Speedy you are right. I've had a coach go over there, the stories when he came back.....

They are a joke, sorry to say.

So would you agree that if JR's numbers are suffering because of his teamates in Oakland then JR's numbers where exaggerated in college with all the elite talent around him?

Brady would be worse and he would start melting down and blaming others. Most QB's would. Trust me, Brady is average at best....he is smart though and can do well in the system. Some guys fall into a good situation and some don't. Archie Manning could have been a super bowl legend had he lasted longer in the draft and gone to the Steelers instead of the Aints.

Elite?

Bowe has been good, Buster has been a bust and Early slipped to ther 3rd and doesn't look like he'll do anything. I wouldn't say that's "elite" tallent.

Brady has always had a great O-line, had strong running games around him and simply played within the system. You really think he could do anything with the Raiders? He would get almost killed, because he can't avoid a rush; would start melting down and blaming others; would lose and two years from now be trying to get a back-up spot as a free agent. Picture him with guys dropping his throws, not coming back to balls, etc. Brady would be terrible terrible with the Raiders.

They where still 1st round picks and Elite at the college level...Jesus Christ...LSU won the national championship the next year with a lot of that same team... That's Elite my friend...

Just like Joe Montana with the BUCS in the 80's They would have still been the BUCS right?????

However Brady comes to work IN SHAPE and ready to go. JR has NOT done that. I don't care what the rest of the team does. YOU are the #1 PICK AND are a QB you NEED to be at the top of your game at ALL TIMES!!! If you don't see that then ...WELL....,

His 1st SB run, he was sacked 41 times, 6 most in the NFL.

He would do better than Jamarcus. To debate otherwise is, well, just mindboggling. You ever see how inaccurate Russell is???? Brady is one of the most accurate passers in the NFL, Russell one of the least accurate? So how would Brady be worse??

I don't think you could call any of them "Elite" in college. Maybe Bowe. And that is my point...you are saying that he was a product of playing with an elite group when only one of them has even been worth a frick. Elite in your eyes maybe. Talented, yes. Elite, frick no. And your point is stupid as frick anyways. What player isn't going to be better with good players around him? The Raiders starting WR's are the worst group EVER. How do you expect someone to be successful working with that shite? Put him anywhere, even Detroit, and nobody would be calling him a bust right now.

Montana was a system QB...short passes, great talent around him, some of the best receivers and backs coming out of the backfield in history and great defenses. With the Bucs, Montana would have sucked, thrown pics, and last 6-7 years max. I said in my first post that it is an embarrassment that Russell showed up to camp at 300 lbs and out of shape....he should be the leader in work ethic and set the tone. He may turn out to be a bust, but I'll give him until the end of next season. He is not a leader by all accounts so far.

I would!! Cause he doesn't care!! He is FAT and out of shape. He doesn't want THAT LEADER ROLE!!!

QBs developed by the Raiders over the last 20 years anyone? I am still waiting for someone to lay it all out for me.

Todd Marinovich was mentioned, most noted for his drug use than his playing days.

The silence is exactly what I was getting at. We have these people who pretend to know football, but yet they can't see that there are so many factors to weigh in regards to a QBs development. I am not saying the guy will be all pro, but given a more nurturing environment he could be a solid qb in this league.

I agree with ya. The RAIDERS used to be an ELITE franchise but AL is digging a hole he can't get out of!! BUT. JR being a #1 pick could at least come into camp in shape and wanting to play.

Agreed, if combined with a strong work ethic on his part and good coaching with something, something decent around him.
