Also, its funny how I can't see the "big picture" but he has made 4 starts this season. One of them has been "above average" or maybe even "good" so that dismisses what happened the other 75% of the time. Yea - I sure can't see that big picture

port you have been right on the money

the other thing these idiots don't get is that last year, he actually had a qb coach who knew what he was doing

greg knapp, who is in seattle now, work with him over the latter part of the season and that is why we saw improvement

knapp also work with steve young, jeff garcia, and michael vick

who replaces knapp, a guy who is about to go to jail

i asked this question yesterday and no one answered

Who has the raiders drafted and developed at the qb position over the last 20 years?

Trust me, I'm not saying that the Raiders aren't the shittiest organization in the NFL, the offense lacks any sort of skill, and is ran by the crypt keeper. I'm saying that Jamarcus is part of the problem though, and not if he the Cardinal's WRs he'd magically be able to actually get them the ball. Sure maybe if they have an amazing O-line and amazing receivers he'd be a good NFL QB, but jesus christ you could say that about Brady Quinn too.

Paul Hackett, who has a pretty solid record coaching up QBs, if not entire offenses and teams

I think he could be decent on another team, perhaps good down the road. He doesn't have the leadership or personality to preserve in the situation he's landed in IMO, which will result in him being an enormous bust.

Can’t they all suck? I think JaMarcus is a victim of circumstance (terrible organization, no coaching, an offense which feeds his worst instincts, lousy receivers), but it still doesn’t mean he isn’t shaping up to be a massive bust.

I can't do it.

Still waiting for you to acknowledge how he's part of the problem (and not the solution).

ur right, however quit trying to make excuses for the guy. im a raiders fan and would like nothing more than to see him do well, but i doubt it will happen. he has horrible mechanics, terrible accuracy and doesnt put in the work necessary to improve. yes the raiders suck due to Al still running things but its stupid when people say oh hed be doing great on a different team. yeah right the guy sucks

Its amazing how long this JaMarcus Russell excuse train runs. Everyone wants to talk about how if he was on a different team it would be completely different. I don't know of another team that would want him.

As sad as the Raiders org. is they dont make him refuse to learn the playbook, refuse to show up for camp in shape, and make him one of the laziest dumb QB's in the league.

FWIW, when he was here, a lot of the players I knew said the exact same things about him...that he was lazy and just plain ignorant.

Sucks too, cuz he obviously has the physical tools to be great. But QBing is arguably less than 50% physical.

no joke he has been part of the problem this year. you seem to be discounting how well he played at the end of last year.

right...I am just saying that you can't say he IS the problem without looking at the big picture. Worst cast of WR's in the history of the NFL. I cannot think of of a group worse than what the Raiders currently have, not to mention that Al Davis is a loon and the head coach is a no-name who could possibly be arrested. That doesn't make me a homer. Far from it. Go to the Rant and see what they think of JR. They wanted Flynn to start from day 1. Nobody here is saying that he's a top 10 or even 20 qb, but it's not fair for casual fans to sit back on the couch and criticize without using common sense. Is that really the group you want to lump yourself with?

JR = Akili Smith

He's not good. Would he be better on another team yes but he would still be a bad player. He's has bad WRs but JR has been abysmal.

Its not like hes played tough defenses this year.
SD (bad), KC (bad), Denver (good), Houston (bad)

He's played week defenses this year. And still putting up the worst possible numbers.
