What is the "reason" for this loss?

quote:No, Griffin won't be as good as he was in the first 1.5 games. Rockets figured out how to slow him down and force the role players to beat them.
Blake Griffin was horrible last night and they still won by 25. Austin Rivers won't play that well again, Griffin won't play that poorly. Clips are the better team and will win in 6.
I guess if you get beat by Austin Rivers and JJ Reddick then you just have to tip your cap.
Prigioni and Terry being terrible defenders makes it easier for the role players to score.
The Clippers also have done a good job on Harden and forcing the ball to the Rockets' role players. However, Smith and Brewer have been stinking it up and Ariza can't hit a shot.
So the Clippers role players are out-playing (or at least out-shooting) the Rockets' role players right now. And that's where we're at.

21/14/4 on 50% shooting last night and they only needed him for 30 minutes compared to the 40 he played in G1 and G2
Houston has zero answer for Griffin

I said they figured out how to slow him down. 21 points isn't all that much. He's not going off for an efficient 35.

Was he as dominant in the last 6 quarters of the series as he was the first 6 quarters of the series?

He beasted the boards and dunked all over Howards face last night
Game was over early so he rested.
Another beating is coming tomorrow

First two games his per 36 scoring was 26.6, last night it was 25.5, congrats I guess?

Here, I'll answer it for you:
First 6 quarters:
58 min, 20/32 fg (.625), 19 reb, 15 ast, 52 pts
Last 6 quarters:
54 min, 12/30 fg (.400), 24 reb, 6 ast, 30 pts
Or to put it on a per 36 basis so that the minutes are even:
Per 36 first 6 quarters: 32 pts on 62% shooting, 12 reb, 9 ast
Per 36 last 6 quarters: 20 pts on 40% shooting, 16 reb, 4 ast

In the first half he had 26 points on 85% shooting, in the second half he had 8 points on 20% shooting.
The Rockets prevented him from getting the ball in his spots and made him work to even get the ball in his hands. They were fronting him and daring the Clippers to throw over the top.
The first 6 quarters are not the same as the last 6 quarters when the Rockets made adjustments to slow down his one-on-one scoring and play-making.
Of course you can't stop a great player, but he has scored less points less efficiently as before. That's what I mean by slowing him down.

by slowing him down, you mean slowed him down from scoring 26 points on 85% shooting per half
He had his way last night. Not sure what you were watching

He also wasn't dishing out 13 assists like in the first game, either.

Well yeah
The ball goes through CP3 when he's playing. Plus Griffin played 10 less minutes and still had 4

In the second half of the second game, he had 8 points on 20% (2/10) shooting and 2 assists.
I guess that was just by accident and it had nothing to do with Houston's adjustments?

In the entire third game he had 22 points on 50% shooting, did their adjustments stop working?
There was no way in hell he was going to shoot 85% from the field for the whole series.
