For the record, New Orleans has won a championship much more recently than Houston.

Houston is still shaking-off the rust from twenty years ago.

Is Clutch City just a Rockets thing? Or is it an entire city of Houston thing?

Like Rip City is just the Trailblazers. I'm asking because I do not know.

Yes no clue where that came from at all. Most off topic post I've seen in a minute.

I took "Houston is clutch city" as meaning the entire city.

Looking into the background, I see that it originated from the Rockets in the mid-'90s, so it's definitely more of a Rockets thing.

So, carry on.

Just a Rockets thing. It got going with the two championship teams that did some clutch things, like win the series against Phoenix after losing the first two at home.

Wrong try again.
So Howard is the better rebounder based on the very small playoff sample size, and no care at all about the entire regular season sample size?

Which is his reasoning for why the Rockets role players will outshine the Clippers role players.

Even though benches play more limited in the postseason, and the Clippers' hasn't looked COMPLETELY terrible this postseason.

This has been Harden's problem in his playoff career.Yea, I really don't get how HOU fans can have zero concern whatsoever. Doesn't even mean you think they'll lose, but the nonchalant, "we got this" attitude is silly.

I don't have that attitude at all. Losing that way was brutal. I am seeing Portland last year all over again. Game 2 is a must win.

That said, Harden's numbers in the first round were better than what he averaged this season. He had a bad game. It happens. Overall he has been a stud in the post season.

He's gone up against Tyson Chandler and 1 game of Jordan and still has the highest rebounding rate in the playoffs. In these playoffs, right now, yes D12 is the best rebounder. Why does what happened during the season matter? Dwight was hurt then, he's not hurt now. How about a little perspective?

Howard is healthy. He wasn't during the regular season. After he returned from the two months off, his rebounding rate was awesome in limited minutes. And he has continued to dominate the boards in the playoffs. But I agree that Jordan and Howard are pretty even in the rebounding category.

Boom is giving this thread the "unknownknight" treatment in a big way.

So Jordan is better than Howard based on a regular seasons worth of stats where Jordan was better but Howard was hurt. ok, got it.

Find me the healthiest Howard season you can find, and I'll show you a season where he wasn't as good of a rebounder as Jordan is this season.

24.5% TRB%, Howard hasn't comc close to that.

If you want to go Boom like and say he's better because he's slightly better in the 6 game playoff sample, have at it.

Jordan was better than any healthy HOward year ever, factually speaking.

I think there is some Dennis Rodman effect here. No offensive load means he only has to focus on rebounding. Like I said, I think the two are even all things considered.

Not necessarily, no. Rebounding rate is affected by the quality of the those opposing the rebounds. That's why d12 is so impressive after having faced Chandler and Jordan.

If you want to compare across years then you should look at how players compared to the rest of the league in those years. D12 has lead the league in rebounding 3x times more than Jordan.
