The Ballpark at Arlington has multiple obstructions, support poles IIRC.

There are definite places where you can't see the whole field, but that's going to be the case in most any stadium.

MMP is good and bad. new(enough), reasonably priced(to build), comfortable, lots of room in the concourses, plenty of food choices, contrary to what someone posted on page 1, i have never had a bad sight line at MMP and ive sat from the nose bleeds down to behind home plate. but MMP is gimmicky as hell. formerly a hill in the OF, a flag pole in play in the OF, a large train that can only go 1 way that pulls a container of pumpkins

i think they built it right, but i hate the old time, throw back, cheesy ways they have attempted to be unique. im ok with the design, despite it looking like a hangar like someone said, b/c if you want an indoor/outdoor option for your baseball game, aesthetics often get trumped by functionality

and i know theyre not pumpkins.

I'd much rather get rid of the pumpkin train than the hill or flagpole. Who the frick puts a train on top of a building anyway?

Yes, I also know they are not pumpkins.

Where then? There may be some seat somewhere in the stadium that has an obstructed view of the whole field, I'm yet to find that spot though.

Crawford boxes can't really see parts of the outfield but that's all I can think of.

That catch by Jake Marisnick might be the best one.

Ditto the Fenway rip off citgo sign.

Don't get me wrong I go for the Astros, but the MM park is pretty cheesy.

Are you saying it looks like a hangar because of the retractable roof? I think that's more of a function of the retractable roof mechanics than it is the architecture. The outfield walls in left and center look like a concrete bridge in profile view and I think that's really cool. It's a great park and I really do like it a lot.

That single HR by Pujols is literally the defining moment in the decline of Brad Lidge's career.

Citgo works because it's an oil town. Quit being so damn picky.

I have always thought the coca cola deck in deep center was dump. Everything else is pretty norm for new ball parks.

One thing that would be great I think is to take out the train and cover that top part of the deck with event space.

Put some beer / food vendors up there. Sell tickets cheap. Make it a happy hour spot for weekday night games.

Arizona's stadium was built the same time as ours.

Their roof is closed 95% of the season and when it does it looks horrible on TV. Nothing but a grey wall in the outfield.

When MMP roof is open it is a pretty great place to watch baseball. Best in Texas and the south. Until Atlanta builds their stadium.

How many people have actually hit the flagpole? The only person I remember was Richie Sexson over a decade ago

Get rid of the train? I love the train. I mean they built the stadium in old union station. It's not like they came up with the idea out of nowhere.

The train is there because it's built on old union station.

This is what they have in mind for CF I think if you looked at the pics. Similar to the Rockpile at Coors or Red Porch in DC. It would have worked up there too but it would be overkill at this point and those sight lines in CF are much better
