I've suspected for a long time that the Patriots did this with Tom Brady/TB12, too.

Deflategate was not about deflating balls but getting some evidence on TB12 salary cap avoidance. Deflategate was too dumb on its own to make any sense. Coincidentally Tom’s phone was too broke to turn over.

It’s why Tom Brady was paid half his going rate for 20 years.

I mean we literally knew the Patriots were paying for TB12s sports recovery company to do stuff at the Patriots facility. The nfl just let it happen because the Patriots dynasty/brady golden boy stuff.

Pablo Torre also reported false information about Jordon Hudson being banned from UNC. I’m going to need more reliable sources.

PT has been right a lot more than he’s been wrong recently. He’s earned my benefit of the doubt for now.

MLB doesnt have a salary cap. I guess to avoid luxury tax?

Mlb does have a cap on what teams can pay their draftees.
Braves drafted Waters signed him to an underslot deal and alledgely gave him a car.

Good thing the Clippers were average the last six years.

This would have been a bigger story if they had won something.

I figured this happens all the time using endorsement deals. Pay off the local car dealers who pay him a million dollars each to put his face on their ads. There’s really no way to pin down the exact value of a celebrity endorsement and it’s essentially a no show job anyways. This sort of open loophole is basically how all of college NIL operates

It’s also how governments and corporations buy influence on social media, by disguising it as advertising contracts. Advertising is a great way to launder money.

Exactly. Ballz will just buy the NBA if pinhead even tries to come at him

I’m on Team Ballmer. As much as I wish they circumvented the salary cap, First Steve isn’t that dumb. If he did try to feed KL money, knowing what was at stake for him personally, and his team, do you think he would let the company go bankrupt ? Knowing all creditors would be visible to the world ? They got scammed by Aspiration, along with many others. Crimes for which they pleaded guilty last week. Scammers do scammy things. They did a $300m sponsorship deal with the clippers in 2021. That’s a HUGE deal. The better the team does , the more value the sponsorship has. It actually makes perfect sense that if they stole money from investors and want the clippers to succeed, why not give stolen money to help keep their best player ? It’s sad that

@PabloTorre

didn’t take the time to find out how these scammers pulled off their scam. The idea that the default is Ballmer is the bad guy is going to back fire on him.
