UGA is legit better than OSU or OU

Are they more deserving? No. But are they clearly better? Yes

Georgia's problem is the immediate rematch.

Obviously he's suggesting to move them up to avoid that, which is asinine. Can't lose a game and move up, if they're in, it's at 4 and they will have to live with the immediate rematch

No I don't want to see Georgia vs Alabama again every time the two teams play it's the same old story

How do we know they’re better than OU?

We don't. Anyone who argues for crap like this really wants to take a giant dump on the regular season results and conference title races.

Hooray eye test. Merit means nothing.

If the playoff is objectively attempting to determine who the best team is, then UGA cannot be in, as they have already proven they are not better than Alabama, who will be the #1 seed.

Upon further analysis, I’ve come to the conclusion that Herbie is doing some defensive gymnastics since OU is in over OhioSt... basically trying to say “screw it, leave them both out”

Why not? It’s a flawed system so you don’t really have much of a choice. OU gets rewarded for winning a bad conference? ND gets rewarded for playing that schedule because...merit ?

No one will accuse me of being a ND fan but there was nothing wrong at all with their schedule.

Does anyone have the matrix what the Vegas spreads would be for all teams involved and potential playoff matchups?

UGA against all possible opponents
OhioSt against all possible opponents
Etc etc

I’m as SEC-biased as it gets, and I actually like UGA, but I coughed up my coke when he made the statement to move UGA higher.

It’s gonna be OU at 4

they are legit #2 in my eyes, especially after watching fromm today.

unfortunately, they play in the sec, which requires a conference title game, and that game is vs bame.

UGA should have been independent like ND, sitting at home all comfy with a locked in playoff berth.

ya hate to see it, lol

is there a push by anyone else besides Herbie to keep UGA in?

Do you mean besides absolutely everyone involved in broadcasting the game at CBS less than five minutes after the game was over?

Which could be forgivable in certain scenarios, but with the CFP landscape as it stands now, they should not be in.

1 - Alabama
2 - Clemson
3 - Notre Dame
4 - Oklahoma

11-1, only loss to bama by 7 points, they are in imo
10-2, 20 point loss to lsu, no way they are in

Georgia is done but if it were actually about picking the four best teams I think you’d have to include them. I don’t necessarily think it should be about picking the “best” teams though. I don’t know why they say that is their mission. Georgia is better than Notre Dame and OU. The four best teams are Clemson Bama, Georgia, and OU. If I had to say whether Georgia was closer in caliber to Bama and Clemson or OU Ohio State and Notre Dame I would definitely say the first group.
