Means less golf on tv and considering it's a world tour, means less american exposure too.

This is only if LIV kills off the PGA and DP Tours, which has almost 0% likelihood of happening.

In the end, it will mean MORE golf overall on TV. Obviously the downside would be diluted fields in these events if guys aren't allowed to play across all the tours. Even if they are, fields at the shitty tournaments on the PGA Tour will be diluted either way.

I wasn't aware the PGA Tour was going to cease to exist.

If they keep being dumb about this and lose their best players, it basically won't exist.

If the tour with the most talent is harder to access, both in person and on television/digital, I'm not sure that's good for the sport.

Well then you can blame the Tour, not LIV

I am blaming the tour.

But I'm also saying LIV's emergence has its setbacks beyond "SAUDIS BAD ARGH"

LIV needs the PGA Tour and all of its developmental tours to exist in order for LIV to succeed.

Coexisting is the end goal. And the PGA Tour will 100% cave if enough big name players join LIV.

Think about how many of the best players are actually showing up for all these tournaments. Some of these tourneys are so bad even Jim Nantz doesn't show.

Tiger played about 15 or so tourneys a year not counting majors. He didn't play as much as some of these average guys.

The cool thing about LIV is that every tourney the big-name guys will be there. They all will be playing the same course at the same time. How fair is that?

And you can still watch the PGA.

Meh, I think you're giving too much altruistic credit to the people running LIV. Their goal is to 100% be the top tour in golf. Which it should be, you don't want to be the USFL or XFL of golf.

And this is more a 10+ years down the road type of thing, but if the best talent continues to go to LIV and the PGA starts losing more money, those development tours will be some of the first costs to cut.

Yes. Great for the players. Sucks for true golf fans.

The fake golf fans who want to blow everything up will be happy.

Their goal is to generate some ROI on their investment in golf while also changing the perception of Saudi Arabia to a first world western country

You keep repeating this as if its true. Just because other fans don't agree with you doesn't mean they aren't fans.

No one is stopping you from watching JJ Henry at the 3M

Jay Monahan has handled this about as well as a one legged man in an arse kicking contest. He should have just granted the players their waivers. Instead of vilifying them and using the pressure of golf media against them.

That's what they say and there is a money washing aspect to this, but you're fooling yourself if you think these filthy rich tycoons aren't coming in to "win", look at what happened when they all started buying soccer clubs in England.

They aren't washing money through LIV moron. I don't think you know what money washing means.

No they don't. They own a second level premier league club. Americans own two of the biggest English clubs.

He’s got to be close to 50. Why are they going after has beens and players on down side of their careers. DJ and Koepka have peaked. Phil is washed up. Reed is a douche. Dechambeau is a head case. If Cam Smith joins, I guess that is something, but he doesn’t move the needle. He won’t be a all timer either. He’s caught lightning in a bottle this year.
