Who would be the fifth wheel?

Would Allen just come back to sit at the 3 pt line until he turns like 43 or so?

Or would Lewis be the ancient player on the cheap contract hanging out at the 3 pt line?

Carmelo is on the list of players who will never win an NBA championship. Him and Dwight Howard.

Until Miami finds a way to sign them.

He also forgot CP3, Bradley Beal, and Blake Griffin.

Still doesn't look like Lebron has enough help IMO.

No they have to go All 2003 Draft Class.

In this hypothetical scenario. Kaman did play on a really cheap contract in 2013-2014 and was 6th overall pick in 2003.

Been dangerously close to boycotting the NBA for years, this would be the final straw.

I'd laugh my arse off if this happened. Melo doesn't fill any of their holes on the team at all. People are crazy if they think all 4 of these guys are going to take $8+ million paycuts each. Wade and Bosh HAVE titles. They aren't playing for their legacy at this point. It's LBJs team. I'm sure they love winning ships, but sacrificing that much money just so they can give it to a guy who doesn't make any sense from a basketball standpoint is ridiculous.

TL:DR AIN'T HAPPENING unless Bron gives the Heat an ultimatum, which would be a hilarious fail on Bron's part.

Lebatard was running the numbers today and Bron, wade and bosh would opt out then sign for $14 mil

I wish I could take a paycut and still get paid $14 mil

This sport is becoming unwatchable. There is no competition. You can almost circle who will meet in the finals every year. With teams stacking this way, the league only carries about three teams with a legit shot at a title. Players just want an easy road to the finals. And if this happens, James will always be weaker then Jordan.

I don't care what anyone says but thats 4 top 10-15 players on the same team. Thats stupidly not fair to the rest of the league.

Wade hasn't been a top 10 guy in a while.

Bosh is top 15-20

Melo still can't play defense

Adding melo would go against what has made the heat sucessful(great D and ball movement while having solid role players)(well and LBJ of course)

Explain how that's not fair? Are the Heat doing something that only the Heat are allowed to do?

Exactly.

For that matter, I don't know why Shane Battier hasn't played more in this Finals series. He killed the Spurs with his D, hustle, passing, and three point shooting last year.

There are places for Carmelo to thrive in the NBA, but he would destroy the chemistry of the Heat. As much as I enjoy watching the Spurs play, the Heat also have some beautiful ball movement at times.

Don't know about that. If they get International catch and shoot Melo, which LeBron would likely ensure, they would destroy defenses. Defense would be a different story, but they would figure it out. Only 11th on defense this year.

LeBron is playing for legacy. He is already an all time, top tier player, it's just where he ends up. He is chasing ghosts for the rest of his career. He has money.

Bosh has said he will take a paycut. Wade/Melo are less likely, but Wade could get more rings than Kobe and Melo could get a title or 2 to his resume

What is interesting to me is that these guys would all take huge paycuts to win (you know the ultimate goal) and the large reaction has been "I hate the Heat."

Battier has a giant fork sticking out of his back. He's been fairly useless all season long. There is a reason Lewis has been playing over him and its not because Lewis is good
