It's been over 2 decades since a PG was the best player on a championship team.

3 of the past 5 years a team has taken a PG as the #1 pick. Nba teams have no idea what they are doing.

Tell me who the great players on those Allen Iverson teams that went to the Finals were?

Iverson's 76ers only made it once. No plural needed

Kyrie Irving is a great PG. Cavs suck.

Chandler averaged like 12 and 12 while in NOLA.

West was an All-Star.

Peja was a sharpshooter. Pretty solid team.

I agree with you, but its basically a team with one of the top two players in the league that wins the championship, regardless of what position that player plays.

So you would say that the 76ers went to the NBA Final?

He's very good, but no.

Chris Paul is a great PG.

The turnout once the Hornets drafted CP3 was immediate and noticeable. Drafting him turned the Hornets into a good team.

this board seems to have an obsession with Irving.. he's going to be very good in a few years and possibly a top 5 player even, but right now his defense is too flammable.

Parker was the best player on that team in the playoffs. And Billups was for sure the best player on the Pistons. He just wasnt a superstar

Again, Ben Wallace was the best player on that team. also that was a once in a generation defense. PGs do not matter in the NBA, it's a fill in position. It's going to be hard for a CP3 led team to ever win a championship. Bigs and wings reign supreme
I think you are confused. You are confusing scorers with "best player".

Different positions have different roles.

And different teams have different roles for different positions.

Yes a pg needs players around him to win in the nba. Just like every other freaking position.

Look at how teams have drafted of late. And how good were the clippers before Paul went there. The cavs suck. They would probably have 3-4 wins without Irving.

This least valuable position bs is one of the dumbest arguments I've heard in a long time on here.
