re: Has there ever been an NBA player teetering on greatness/irrelevancy as much as Hardwn?

I don’t say his teammates cost them at all. Brilliant plan by Spo to take out the guy who they were most scared of and make the others beat them. Happens all the time.

Sorry but if you believe that you have no credibility. Just watch the games, they’ll disprove any comments you wanna twist and spin. Besides the argument is false anyway, top guys always draw the most focus and we don’t make excuses for them.

Are we staying in the present? Harden, by most accounts, has lost a step. Without Batman, the sixers stand little chance.
I was just listening to Fox Sports Radio and Chris Broussard made a good point that Harden has played more games than Magic Johnson and Allen Iverson and is coming up around Isiah Thomas' total. The point being, he is kind of an old man now. So, I wouldn't beat him up too much for any decline now. But, if you want to pick apart the past, go for it.

People make “excuses” for 21 year olds all the time. You always hear “young teams don’t win” and stuff like that. You just gotta take your lumps that how it goes for everyone.

That’s a deflection man cmon. Regardless of what you say Durant and Westbrook were the two best players on that team not Harden. The weight wasn’t on him yet he underperformed which he’s done consistently throughout his career in big spots. I don’t think they lost because of him, I think OKCs front court got outplayed physically by a smaller weaker group of players and that’s what cost em but of the 3 drivers of that team, 2 more than pulled their weight, Harden didn’t.

Seems like no matter what it not Harden's fault. He always has the best whatever alphabet stat to show why is the best. I mean his AARP% in the 3rd qrt during the last 7 seconds is better than...

Your new infatuation and unconditional love for this dude is so fricking weird. If Hardin read your post he would get a restraining order

With Embiid out and Philly needing to get a split here in the 1st 2 games, Morey needed Big Game James to step up, and Harden has responded by giving his team 36 points... total over 2 games.
Forget Batman, dude has lost Robin status.

Might be time for him to move back into that 6th man role

Big Game James

Jim has only averaged 13 FGA in the playoffs, what’s up with that?

Small Game James did his thing again.

“Needing to split” nice imaginary take
that’s not how this works when you have the MVP coming and he is taking deandre Jordan and Paul reeds minutes. If embiid is cleared for game 3 this is a 2-2 series. you can’t double team every possession if Jojo Is out there.

That 18 points per game from Big Game James just shows he can't be a Batman any more. Sad times.

The game plan will be pretty easy for a great head coach like spo.
Dare Jim to shoot. He can't, doesn't want to and they know it.
Sad times to see someone fall off so fast like Jim, but when you don't care about your body it's easy to see why.

There used to be a time where Jim didn't need a great player like Embiid to win in the playoffs.
That time has passed. Yikes.

Name me a player who has won a big playoff series with his best teammate out. Not a first round series v a 8 seed.
Lebron - no AD, round 1 loss one year, no playoffs the next. No Kyrie, loses to GSW. Bron has never won a damn thing in the playoffs when he had key guys out.
Steph - only one hall of fame teammate last season, he didn’t even make the playoffs. Well
He did, but lost to Memphis at home in the play in.
Durant - nope, couldn’t beat Milwaukee.
Exactly who and when are these players who have won Tough playoff series when one of the top 2 players was out for the series?
It just doesn’t happen.
Jojo back for game 3 hopefully,, and it will be knotted back up by the end of the weekend.
