Jordan Love?
Edit: Still too early to judge perhaps. But just thought of him.

He better be given what he is getting paid.
Both he and Rodgers sat for 3 years before taking over.
Drafting someone you know you will sit for 3 years is the definition of "drafting on potential". How they did in college does not matter if you plan to roll them out in the first year. "Potential" does not equal "Now" nor does it necessarily equal someone jumping in after an injury if they were not being groomed to start..

Wasn’t Akili Smith one of those guys? He sucked.

Did you forget that Lamar Jackson was a Heisman trophy winner?
So was Charlie Ward, Eric Crouch, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manziel, etc...
I think non-pocket passers who rely on superior athleticism at the college level (ie, backyard ball) can always fit, or at least flirt with this category because there is always some concern that they will not be able to replicate success with that approach or they will not be able to transition to pro-style fundamentals.
Guys like Vick, Lamar and Mahomes made it work. Others didn't.

Every qb is drafted on potential

Josh Allen is the only QB that I can think of that was inaccurate in college but got accurate at the pros.

Carson Wentz walked so Josh Allen could run

Back in the day, every QB was expected to sit for at least three years.

ETA: Matt Cassel, never started a game, zero college TD's. career earnings: $64MM. mother F

Patrick Mahomes. Lamar Jackson.
I think you're missing the point here.
But also, literally every QB is drafted because of "potential"

Wasn't Flacco deemed raw arm talent out of a small school like Josh Allen?

the problem with Qb's like Richardson and Levis is 3 simple words I never want an NFL scout to use when talking about a Qb...raw,athletic,ability.
those 3 words have doomed every QB that is described like that with maybe the exception of Lamar Jackson

his stats at Wyoming were mediocre to bad.
Yeah, looking at those stats you'd never really project him as a top 3 NFL QB. He definitely showed arem-talent and running ability, but he really struggled with accuracy.
I know his college coach said not to look at his completion percentage because their offense was either run or throw deep. Naturally that kills your completions percentage, but he struggled mightily even that first year or two in Buffalo hitting tight windows. Somebody really needs to study his development and see how he got so much more accurate, because that is a really rare skill to improve on, especially to the level that he's been able.
