Greatest Innovator in basketball history. Cannot believe he's 85. Always enjoyed those Mavs teams. Met him once in Dallas. Cool dude.

Between the Bucks in the '80s and Mavs in the 2000s, he coached some of the best teams not to win a championship.

He was savvy enough to realize Manute Bol was playing out of position.

Per Wikipedia, he’s been living the good life in Hawai.

Nellie Kush. If I didn’t work, I’d try some

Nellie was a great 6th man on the 60’s/Early 70’s Celtic Dynasty I pulled for as a New England kid.

I remember him coming in off the bench with the Celtics back in the Cowens/Havlicek days.
Yep I’m that old.

What perhaps many here don't know....or forgot.....is that he was great coming off the bench back in his Celtic playing days. Wanna say he won several 6th Man awards.

Boston had a huge lead going into the 4th Quarter of Game 7 of the 1969 NBA Finals. The Lakers chipped away and nearly regained the lead until Nellie got this one to go.
