highly doubt Hahnville puts any potential games on the line by playing him until the court rules definitely that he can play

not like they're winning a state championship... play him now let LHSAA sort it out later

Does Garic have an affiliation with HHS? Thought I recall something in regards to this. Child goes to school there maybe?

Garic said he had a son that went to Hahnville

One thing about this public/private/catholic school crap is that any student/athlete can go to any private school their parents want them to attend in the state no matter where they live, while on the other hand any student/athlete cannot go to any public school they want or choose in the state. It has to be in attendance zone.

The split came from cry baby schools who are scared to compete in football. Just go check out whose schools voted on it and you will be surprised.

I'm pretty sure if you go to a private out of your attendance zone that you have to sit out a year.

And 100 percent of public school students go for free.

About 95 percent of private school students pay.

There are plusses and minuses.

Regardless, the top classification should be all the big boy schools to determine the best of the best.

And if you live outside of the attendance zone of a private school, then
1. leave the country for a year for training/school
2. then return to the same private school the next year you were at and live at the same house you lived at before you left

You have to sit out another year. So you would have to sit out 2 years (1 before you left and 1 after you got back)

Statement from LHSAA “We have heard of a Temporary Restraining Order filed by an attorney who represents the Robison family, but not Hahnville High School. As far as we know, the next legal step is third-party arbitration.”

That's about what I thought about Henry repaying.

You have made several comments about how the organization is better with this Exec Director in charge, compared to his predecessors. I will agree with you, but part of that is because the prior ones were so bad.

While I think and still maintain the penalty Robison rec'd is insanely harsh, I don't like the courts getting involved like this.

HHS can't play the kid. That's not a risk the school can take. Because, if the LHSAA ultimately wins, they are going to go in dry on HHS.

That is what I mean. We should have ONE top classification. The publics were short sighted thinking this was a public/private issue that would resolve with the split. Top kids will find a way to go to the better teams regardless....if they are allowed to. The issue was enforcement of rules.

You are clueless. Your school voted for the split

The split came because in 2004 8 schools that were tired of losing to JC and ECA thought the way to deal with them was to create the play in class rule and send them down to their enrollment class which was 1a and 2a - which while they were down in the lower classifications nobody but JC or ECA won state...

Real good fix. That is why we have the split.......

Change the rule or punishment down the road letting courts decide or getting our screwed up state govt involved is insanity

They kids dad knew the rules

Break the rules file suit sets a really bad precedent

Kid and parents intentionally broke numerous rules. He absolutely deserved to be declared ineligible.

ETA: the only thing the LHSAA got wrong is that the Hahnville Coach should have been suspended for the season and school should have been hit harder with the fine.

Destrehan voted for it but I thought Hahnville voted against it, though the parish superintendent wanted the split.

Now that a lawsuit has been filed, the LHSAA report has been made public. Although much of what is said in that lawsuit are allegations, many facts have been brought to light.
1. Coach Robison does not have a job at HHS. He is currently unemployed although the family stated and the HHS AD signed off on the LHSAA "Residential Eligibility Form" that “Father is coaching at Hahnville".
2. The Robison family leased a property on May 17th in the HHS district, without employment in the area.

There are many more issues… but this is the clearest cut violations.

Rule 1.13.2  A change of residence for the purpose of creating interscholastic athletic eligibility shall not be considered a bona fide change of residence and the student shall be declared ineligible at all LHSAA schools for one calendar year.

To the best of my knowledge Salt's violation(s) warrant in the range of a 4 game suspension based on past rulings of similar cases(under this regime).....
