No idea where they looked...
I don’t know about recruiting regarding the NFL player. But what I do know is the kid graduated from high school and college and the VCHS community had a lot to do with that. He is an outstanding young man and without a doubt proud to be a Terrier.

Your points are valid...
VCHS is a good school, not a football powerhouse but we did just produce a player in the NFL.
They were coming from a VERY small Christian school in Tennessee, perhaps VCHS met their needs (& a job) and looked large... just speculating.
To clarify, I said the family shopped for schools. I did not say VCHS shopped for the kid. There is a big difference and watching how the father was excessively scouting (before all of this drama) the kid all over the country (Facebook shows it all) it is beyond obvious he will do anything to get the kid exposure and a leg up. I get it, we parents want the best for our kids, but it is a bit overboard! That is why I "speculate" that the father found VCHS for a good fit for the kid, I don't think VCHS even knew that was happening.

I suggest let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start…
2015
The Robison family looks for employment and in hind sight a place for their son to be the football star. The father is touted as an exceptional coach and teacher, to which he ended up being neither, perhaps VCHS didn’t check enough past history. Perhaps too VCHS did not realize at this time they had been scouted and shopped for the student athlete, hind sight again is 20/20. The student athlete receives the name “Golden Arm” and excels in every aspect, athletically, socially and I would assume scholastically at VCHS.
Spring 2018
The father is fired from VCHS for what we can imagine is just cause. Only VCHS administration and Mr. Robison know the truth, but we can all speculate there was valid reason. What everyone (including VCHS administration, Athletic Directors and Coaches) also knew is that Andrew Robison would not stay at the school his father was fired from and no one can blame him for that. So, to say that the VCHS coach did not expect Andrew to leave would be way off base. He would have no reason to be vindictive, as he knew this would be the result of his father’s firing. Did the coach cross the line? None of us know but the coach and Andrew, it is one word against another. To say the VCHS coach’s actions were sketchy, etcetera how do you know? Because the Robison family said so? The family who falsified documents? Want to talk about sketchy!
Late Spring 2018
Again, the dad “shopped” around looking for a place for his son to play. Some say, “stay put go to Terrebonne High and say hardship.” Very logical, except have you checked out Terrebonne’s stats? I would suspect there would not have been a place for him to have playing time. So dad needed to look elsewhere for Andrew to play.
A significant amount of commentary sure has hung the VCHS community & coach with only the word of the Robison’s. The same people that we do know falsified documents that in the end were the catalyst to all of this mess. Perhaps they were honest mistakes, we can only assume that is what the arbitrator that made the final decision thought. But none the less… that was wrong and not completely honest. Putting blame back on VCHS for the parent’s mistakes and lack of following correct protocol is inappropriate.
No one is perfect, we all should get that. But the mud-slinging that was initiated AFTER Andrew was ineligible to play seems erroneous. If it was so bad, why did he express such strong admiration for his experience at VCHS in late May after he was no longer a student there. IF it really was a toxic environment that he had left and he did not care to report it, he could have simply said thank you and walked gracefully away without applauding and praising. It just does not make since and neither does the ugly generic statements that are being made on this site regarding VCHS. I would bet that none of those making statements really know the heart and soul of the VCHS community. For that you should be ashamed.
Glad the kid got to play and apparently had a good game. No one wishes ill will on him, but parents we should all take note and play by the rules! They are there for a reason.
Signed,
"Holier Than Thow" (never railed on the kid!)

Maybe I am naïve, but I have a hard time believing that LHSAA's actions are to keep a school out of playoffs. Just like I don't believe that a vindictive coach is the reason all of this happened in the first place.
I am not saying LHSAA is perfect, we all agree as none of us or the organizations that we are a part of are perfect as we are human.
What has been proven as fact is there are MANY violations by the parents of Robison and some by the HHS coach. Deflecting blame on any other entity just is not right.
One TD poster suggested that the students should be trained on the rules... this student's father was a coach and knew the rules, parents know the rules as well! Particularly parents of student athletes, it is reinforced over and over by VCHS. He thought he was above the rules and tried to "cook the books" ..... and it didn't work. It really is that simple, blame on others involved really just is not appropriate. Take responsibility for your actions, there are consequences that may be devastating!

PS
VCHS administration has not been able to discuss anything, as mandated by the diocese. Fr Toups (represents the diocese) did have a very benign interview with HTV before the lawsuit.
Your statement is unsubstantiated, just like Mr. Garic's have been. Rumors and stories without facts. I believe HTV's commentary specifically said to wait for the facts, which were reported when the lawsuit was filed. I believe the lawsuit is public record.

I have not spoon fed HTV anything.. However, I do believe what Martin has presented have been factual documents. Houma Times has reported as well and I do not believe they have ANY ties to VCHS... nor have I spoon fed them anything. The LHSAA documents came out in the law suit that the Robison's filed. Prior to that, those documents were not available to the public, except Garic did have a copy of them that he was reading from.... Not sure who spoon fed him?

Perfectly written article!
Take note Kristian Garic and other reporters... you sure could benefit from this philosophy and approach to journalism!

Unethical!
Using his reporter platform for his school/community personal gain while dispariging others without proper evidence!

I feel certain the parents knew the rules... it appears they think they are above the rules!
I believe the moral of the story is follow the rules! Teach your children what it is right to follow the rules, no one is entitled! Doesn't matter if you are a highly recruited athlete or just a member of the team!
If you don't like the rules, be a leader and work hard to change them.

And our community has known the family for 3 years.

But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel.

So, you are assuming (due to Robison family comments) that the coach is vindictive. Their words are the only evidence of that... and their words have been proven wrong on MANY fronts. The coach is part of our community as well.
When the dad got fired, I'm certain all involved knew the kid would leave! Is there really room for being vindictive there? There was no mystery about what would unfold and I would think the coach (assistant AD) would have known and been prepared for what was to come.
The family did not have anything negative to say until the ruling came down.. prior to that it was BEYOND glowing reviews of Andrew's time at VCHS and Coach. If it was a bad situation you would have said little or nothing! Would NOT praise!

Well, as full disclosure as I have said before, I am from the VCHS community. That community also feels it is horrible that this has happened to the kid. The Robison parents have not been honest, and the proof is all over the place. NO ONE WOULD WISH THIS ON THE KID!
However, you must realize this family and student have thrown our school, faculty, and community under a train. THAT is what we are pushing back about. Prior to that, there was FULL support from ALL (faculty, parents, students) to get Andrew back on the field. The minute the Robison family turned and attempted to disgrace our community…. You bet Momma & Papa Bears came out in full force.
Make no bones about this… VCHS has been through much worse and we will persevere and overcome. Eight years ago this week our community was COMPLETELY destroyed by the loss of 4 beautiful children in a tragic car accident. Less than a month ago, we lost a wonderful young boy to cancer. That stuff is real and cuts to the bone! You are right… this is high school football!
VCHS is strong and will stand as a community! We will accept our faults if and when the truth is revealed. However, at this point the Robison family has simply put word out on the street of “their accusations” of events. MANY of these just don’t add up and have already been proved wrong. The rest will be appropriately discovered as the law suit and investigation proceeds.

So here is another fact…
The younger son of Drew and Colyer Robison is attending St. Francis Elementary School in Houma Louisiana, this fact has already been established.
The 12-year-old is also registered and participating on the Terrebonne Parish Recreation (TPR) 12 yr. old Westside Braves football team, he is a quarterback. How does one register and play football for TPR when “they don’t live in Terrebonne Parish”?
The Jamboree was canceled last weekend because of field conditions but is rescheduled for tomorrow.

Yeah, that is the proper thing to do... keep the coach in order to keep the kid!!!!
Just a thought, can you imagine the discussions that must have gone on regarding the "dismissal" of Coach R and knowing you are going to loose the star athlete?!
Certainly all knew the kid would leave if his father wasn't there... for MANY reasons however it is likely the son has not played a game without his father coaching him on the sideline.
I would lay odds that there was more than significant reason to dismiss Coach R. Had nothing to do with a loosing basketball team! You can bet on that!

Clarity...
Coach R relieved in March of basketball coaching duties, still taught and offensive coordinator for football team… same timing HHS coach “heard” report of potential new quarter back transferring.
Coach R FIRED (let go, contract not renewed) May 1st (school not finished yet) from VCHS. He did not complete the school year in the classroom.
