How many times have you watched it? For me, 20 without breaking a sweat. Youtube just suggested I watch it again, and I dutifully obliged. Never gets any less awesome.

Great fight. Boxing in the 80s really spoiled us. Unbelievable fighters at many different weight classes.

Easily 20 or more for me too. Hell, it's only a 3 round fight to begin with, and not a full 3 to boot.

Hagler went to work after suffering that cut in the 1st round and made a quick night of it.

That and the 10th of Bowe Holyfield are rounds everyone should watch.

Hagler loses the fight to Hearns if there’s no knockout. They would’ve stopped it the next round.

Holyfield was out and then all but knocks Bowe out in that 10th

We were so spoiled with Heavyweights in the 70s and Welterweights in the 80s.

Hagler Hearns was a 3 round war! It never gets old.

Tommy's chin was never going to hold up to Hagler.

What surprised me in an earlier fight was how Duran took Hagler the distance but gets KO'd by Tommy in brutal fashion in his next fight.

Ummm they were begging in between Rd 2 and 3 not to stop it. The Petrocelli’s knew that the 3rd was it. The cut Hagler had was in a horrible spot

The Pizza Hut commercial Hagler did after that fight was golden though

Maybe, maybe not. It was bad, but it wasn't in a bad location. It was in the middle of his forehead, so the blood was just dripping down his nose.

Just got done reading "The Four Kings". Good read for any boxing fan.

It was high enough up as the ref was thinking he couldn’t see as Hagler kept pawing at it. Then he said something to Petronelli Bros in between each round about it. The Petronelli brothers admitted as much

Manny Steward did Hearns a disservice in his two biggest fights. He was hell of a boxer but Manny wanted the knockout and didn’t tell him to box. Because of Hearns though, Manny knew how to handle Lewis in huge fights.

Off topic but you still can not convince me Dundee Doyle or Leonard bought judges in Vegas. He never lost a fight there and absolutely should have lost at least 2 (Hagler, Hearns 2)

You don't know who won the Hagler/Hearns fight? You can find the whole fight on youtube. Check it out.

Hagler and Hearns only fought once.
Hagler and Duran only fought once.
Hagler and Leonard only fought once.

Leonard and Duran fought 3 times.
Leonard and Hearns fought twice

Duran and Hearns only fought once.

Amongst the big four fighting each other:
Hagler was 2-1
Duran was 1-4
Hearns was 2-1-1
Leonard was 4-1-1

So, it's really tough to say that Leonard wasn't the best of the bunch.

On the other hand, it is a bit misleading with Duran, as he was considered by many to be the grreatest lightweight of all time, before he even fought Leonard. He was 29 in that fight. Ray was 24.

And Ray was the only one of the four that wasn't just significantly bigger than Duran. It's a testatment to Duran's boxing prowess that he was able to keep the Hagler fight as competitive as it was. (the hearnns fight, not so much).

Also, Duran fought till he was 50 years old, and won I belive the light heavyweight or super middleweight championship from iran barkley when he was 38. Duran's probably a top ten p4p all-time fighter, even with his relatively unimpressive record against the other three kings.

Well then get convinced. The judge that scored the Hagler/Leonard fight crazy skewed for Leonard was only there because Hagler had vetoed an existing judge. The judge that Hagler vetoed scored the fight for Hagler from the comfort of his own home. So, that's not any conspiracy theory action, or any shenanigans from Ray. That's just Hagler making a decision that turned out to be a poor one.

Secondly, he beat Hagler. I've watched that fight 25 times. I've scored it each and every time. I don't know what the people who say Hagler won the fight are fricking talking about. Watch it. Score it. Show me your scorecards. d

And the second Leonard/Hearns draw was a draw everyone was okay with. That was one of the few draws, you kind of have to walk away feeling okay about.

He didn’t beat him I’m sorry. I’ve watched about 10 times and you can’t convince me. The changing of 12 from 15 rounds was huge and great move by Doyle.

Yes, which resulted it in it being a 12 round fight, which he won.

Watch the fight, and tell me how you score each round. Then we can talk.

Hagler is my favorite boxer from that era. Dude was relentless. He took everyone’s best shot and just kept coming.
