Good thing we have this middle aged white guy to explain macro dynamics of racial relations to us.

"Black America" is the most prosperous black nation in the world.

By far. It's not even close.

Agreed.

I used to like Pop. Now that he's all preachy it's just cringey now

Exactly. It didn't harm other communities and other racial minority groups. Just the blacks.

Listen - we both feel strongly and will disagree. No sense in going back and forth.

Simple fact is African Americans continue to struggle. This country is the most prosperous in the world. Hopefully we can continue to create economic opportunities for them and push them away from government subsidies.

I think we simply this argument by introducing race. We should focus on poverty and try to create opportunities for all races.

At the same time we need to create an environment of accountability.
It's easy to sit there & accuse blacks of simply not being able to get their shite together. But a critical & sometimes uncomfortable examination of post-civil war history can help you understand things a lot more clearly.

Idiot
It was disproportionately prolific in predominately black areas. It destabilized communities practically overnight. But continue with the name-calling; it obviously helps you feel better.

Agree to disagree. There needs to be accountability in their own community.

You mean see things your way.

Structurally, there's nothing that can be done. The USA does race relations as good or better than anyone

What destabilized their communities (and you can look this up) was young pregnancies and then Dad bolting from the home leaving a single parent to raise multiple children. The blow up of the traditional black family is largely the source of their issues.

a-holes acting like we aren't better than 99% of other countries when it comes to racism.
Link to any a-holes saying that?

FWIW Pop is right in this way - it’s not about the US being “worse” than some randomly selected percentage of other countries. This country literally wrote the book on “created equal,” but it took +\- 175 years for us to really begin working on equality. And we’re still working on it.

And this didn't happen elsewhere? Thinking otherwise is just flat out asinine.

Agreed those countries are more racist. Also don’t think we should use that as an excuse to try and not get better at things ourselves (not saying you are, but some people definitely do that).

Taking bets on whether or not Greg Popovich lives in a guarded/gated community and/or sent his kids to private school.

People like you are why we can't even have a conversation about it. What's in it for white people to even talk about this shite? Anything other than agreeing 100% and you're labeled racist.
