all I will say is there is no greater pain than having your season/career end on a technicality in the rules on an issue you had not control over.

Especially not knowing the last time you walked off the field... was... .the last time....

greatest thrill overtime win in the dome was for about 30 years took it....then it was easily overtaken watching my son drive in the winning run vs a team with 30 wins

Beat #1 Bastrop as a #12 seed 35-34... it was legit below 20° That night. And then beat Shaw the next week for our first state title.
Worst loss was when St Aug and LF pushed our shite in in the first round of playoffs.
LF and I were sophomores at the time
It was crazy to see Fournette run through my high school team they beat us by 60 something.

But my senior year, Warren Easton knocked us out in the second round
Refs blew it in overtime and throughout the entire game to be honest. Weird game. It wasn't raining, but it was like standing under those mist things you see in amusement parks.

None of the games were really close that year.
The closest game was 14-3

I remember wanting to leave for the South Plaq game because that game was over by the second quarter

JC only beat Evangel by 14
35-21

Ascension Christian

Both this year.

Best Win: 34-20 over Houma Christian. Down 20-7 late in the 3rd and had a pretty awesome comeback. QB made a really impressive 60+ yard run to tie the game early in the 4th. Made a few defensive plays down the stretch to seal the game up. Well played game by both sides.

Worst Loss: the next week 16-62 to Asc.Catholic. Made a lot of mistakes early and got down 24-0 really quick. Cut the score down to 30-16 at halftime and fell apart in the second half. Game ended with them rushing their starters to the line to score with no time left. Should have been a closer game but way too many mistakes against a really solid team.

But a young program that's growing. so much brighter days ahead.

Well we never made it passed the 1st round and lost to St James 3 years in a row...however I do remember coming back as an alum and being on the field when we were leading Parkview 19-7 (shite talking a bunch of my LSU friends) and then losing 61-19.

Man, that had to be the 04-05 year huh? Savoy. I went to Iowa, didn't play football there though. We had a better team the year before and only won by 2 at home against Mamou because yall couldn't kick an extra point. But the year you're talking about, we had to travel there and thought we'd get beat easily. We had Friddle (another McNeese WR) but almost everyone else including the QB was younger. Iowa got up at halftime like 21-0 or something, somehow, and withstood the Mamou 33 point barrage in the second half to win 39-33.

I would say the greatest win for us was in like 1988 when we upset St. Aug the last year we were in the Catholic League at the time... and two years ago we beat Landry Walker, but they didn't have Keytaon Thompson that game

The most painful losses were the 2003 playoff game against Lutcher which started their dynasty, and the Holy Cross game last year where we were going to kick the winning field goal but they blocked it and returned it for a touchdown... also the St. Aug game in 1978 where we lost the Catholic League championship and missed the playoffs by 1 point

Best win now might be the John Ehret game this past season, followed by the Haughton game in the playoffs.

Also for most painful loss, I’ve seen Grace King beat us… twice

I see you bumped this years-old topic of mine. Nice. I'll take this opportunity to make some updates.

Our new greatest victory is, of course, the semifinal win against Acadiana this past Friday. We achieved the following 3 things:
-Made the state championship game for the first time since 1951
-Earned our first playoff win against Acadiana, the school which had been the horn in our side on that stage (pun intended)
-Gave Hank Tierney his 300th career victory, only the 9th Louisiana high school football coach to do so

The most painful loss is still 2014 Acadiana, which could be replaced this Saturday depending how the Zachary game unfolds. Even if we win the state championship, the Acadiana game might still be the greatest victory due to the symbolic nature of it. Even high school football gurus like choupiquesushi have called it one of the greatest games they've ever seen.

In my memory Patterson’s comeback over Teurlings in ‘02 was up there. That or our 2010 win against west Feliciana in the semis.

Worst loss was the ensuing state championship game. Losing to parkview by 4 sucked like hell.

ETA: just realized I already posted in this thread :clown:

gotta say, losing in the semis sucks lol but I am grateful it was to Ponchatula and Tierney. Always had the upmost respect for that program you got over there and look forward to watching you curb stomp those dirty sob’s in the dome. It is an honor to be your most upsetting lost and greatest win haha. We can relate…I remember when Acadiana finally beat West Monroe in the playoffs in 2007 on their espn2 tv show. It honestly was a more meaningful victory at the time than the 2006 state championship…anyway congrats on your success!

Acadiana’s greatest win is tough, there are a few, excluding state championships:

1999 vs Shaw 1st round. We had absolutely no business winning that game.

2006 vs CHBR semi’s. My goodness what a loaded team

2007 vs West Monroe 2nd round. Finally got the monkey off of our back and ended their little tv show. Having ESPN cameras at your practice all week sure does motivate you.

2010 vs STM semi’s. Revenge curb stomping. Whooped those catholic boys so bad they controlled their enrollment and dropped a whole classification. Still wont schedule Acadiana.

2014 vs Ponch 2nd round. Moved our linebacker to quarterback in week 10 and beat maybe the most talented team in history of 5A.

I think the winner is 2010 STM

Worst loses is not nearly as hard:

2017 vs Hahnville semis, ended in OT on a 2pt conversion. Davidsons last game…wish he would’ve retired on top.

2007 vs destrahan finals. My last game ever, had a crazy talented jordan jefferson led desty team on their toes when a muffed punt ended things.

Greatest win was Bogalusa beating LaGrange for the state championship in 1969.

Most painful loss was losing in the championship game the following year to West Jefferson 17-0 (I think). West Jeff had a running back that was 50 pounds heavier than anybody on the Lumberjacks and he was impossible to bring down. 17-0 doesn't sound that bad but it was complete domination by West Jeff.

It's sad that you believe either one of these things.
