Parkview 2001 could have won 5A and that's not an exaggeration.

Worst game I saw West Monroe lose was in 2012 semi-final game against Barbe.

WM was skull dragging Barbe, had them down by three TDs with a few minutes left, getting ready to go to the Dome.

Somehow Barbe got a fumble recovery and scored. And then TWO consecutive on-side kick recoveries and scored twice. Lost 49-48 That game was so un-West Monroe like with Shows as coach.

Best win by West Monroe was way back in 1993 semi-final against the big bad St Augustine. They had some huge guys with some major talent.

No one and I mean no one thought WM had a chance. Game went into OT, WM scored first and converted on the 2 point conversion.
St Aug scored and WM intercepted the football on the 2-point conversion.

WM won 34-33 and went on to beat Desty in the Dome 28-21.

Greatest win: state championship of course
Worst defeat: losing to West Monroe in the snow on their field in the semifinals in 2012

Fontainebleau - Getting crushed in 5A semifinal in 2004 vs West Monroe. The whole senior class made the trip up to WM and felt like we were going to walk out with a win after taking down #1 John Ehret the week prior. Game wasn't even close.

I was at this game. The whole fountainebleau side was chanting Overrated and were quickly shut up. Don Shows told a local radio host that one thing you should never do is come into Rebel stadium and chant Overrated.

Mamou- greatest win was beating St Eds 7-6 in week 10 when both teams were undefeated. Second would be beating Westminster in 03 on a blocked field goal returned for a TD as time expired.
Worst loss would be losing in the semis to St Helena Central when our all everything receiver had his hands on a game winner and got separated from the ball

Bogalusa High School 1969 AAA State Championship beat LaGrange 18-7
Worst was 1967/68, not sure which, traveled to South Lafourche and got totally stomped in a pouring rain storm. Good old high school days.

2000; Byrd 50-14 over #4 ranked Ouichita
Had Evangel beat our FB rushed for damn near 300 yards and 4 scores. He broke a 60 yarder to seal it and the damn ball popped out of his hands and rolled around the pile on for a touchback. We were up by 4. Brent Rawls drove them down the field and they scored. Neither D could do anything to stop the offenses that night so it was 100% my side of the balls fault.

Not my team, but no one here will top a more painful loss than C.E. Byrd.

quote:

Byrd’s Brandon Nightingale had a 72-yard touchdown run on the first play of the game. He finished the game with a career high 323 yards in 21 carries, averaging 15.4 yards per attempt.

Nightingale fumbled on a 68-yard run with seven minutes remaining in the game. He was in the clear at the 15-yard line when the ball popped out, bounced into the end zone and was recovered by Evangel’s Cody Allison for a touchback.

2015 State Championship without a Doubt.

Although the past two playoff exits were painful against Brother Martin, I'd say the Snow Game vs. WM was the worst

Brad Booth was given a scholarship by Air Force. I guess they loved him since he was the GOAT option QB. But I guess he didn't like how tough the Academy was and transferred to John Brady's Samford to finish playing.

On a tougher note he was diagnosed with cancer a while back but I think he beat that. Not 100% sure of his current situation, though.

My senior year. Great game. Parkview made the Dome by beating Redemptorist for the second time in OT that season.

Parkview let Redemptorist score to go up 8 with about 2 minutes left. Then drove 80 yards to tie it up and go to OT in the semis.

2007 Parkview 15-0

Well I wish him the best..

You said they could have won 5A. I believe you.. what's crazy is that belle chasse could have finished 2nd in 4A (frick Curtis ) that year too, we were loaded.

Port Sulphur won 1A in 01 and beat us to open the season.. it was a good year for Plaquemines Parish lol
