Champ Bailey (from Redskins to Broncos) for Clinton Portis was highway robbery that Denver got away with.

Clinton Portis was good, but elite, HOF caliber cornerbacks are hard to come by.

Ken Griffey, Jr was traded during his prime to the Reds, and then the wheels fell off.

Roger Clemens was traded from Toronto to NY.

Bobby Bonilla was so great, he's still getting paid over $1 mil a year from the Mets and he ain't played for them in over 20 years

A-Rod was traded to the Yankees in his prime.
then the world found out he was a whiny little bitch that choked in big spots.

That Redskins team had Champ Bailey, Deion Sanders, and Darrell Green all in the same secondary. Unbelievable.

So he is the reason we get so much traffic on the Tigerdroppings hockey board. Got it.

You think The Decision show was based on a trade?

It was technically a sign and trade. The Cavs got seemingly every Heat draft pick into the foreseeable future.

Gretzky was not just traded by the Oilers. He was traded by an entire country at a time when trading and free agency wasn't really a thing. Canada went into shock for several weeks, depression for longer probably.

I can't think of an American team sportsperson who "belongs" to America like he belonged to Canada. I guess if Babe or Dimaggio at their peaks had been traded from the Yankees to a team in another country, that would have compared, but of course that didn't happen.

It's the biggest trade in the history of sports, then, now and in the future, for several reasons but largely because athletes are free to be mobile now. Back then, not so much.

The Skankees are a global brand because they’re in NYC, a global city

True. It set the franchise off to many a championship and he was really the first mega star in the sport and still the face of it today. All of that happened in New York.

Wayne Gretzky never achieved Oiler's success for the Kings and to this day when I think about the Great One I think about his time with the Oilers.

Advantage New York Yankees and Babe Ruth.
