I was pretty intimately involved... so it sticks out...

there were some awfully good 1a and 2a teams that did not win state 2004 through 2012 because of JC and ECA being crammed down on them..

2005 Opelousas Catholic and St Charles come to mind..... but there are others..... 2007 st james 2009 capitol (2 point conversion off o state champ ECA)

hangover.. 1975 i was 10 and lived in kings grant... snuck out of my house(fooled baby sitter) hopped on my bicycle made it through tunnel and went to watch st aug sulphur in semis.. I was THE only white guy on the knight side....a guy that coached for MAC that saw me noticed after awhile I was by myself and quizzed me on who I was with I finally admitted I rode my bike..... brought me and my bike home.... gave me his number said call hm next time i wanted to go to a game - but we moved from NO 2 weeks later.....

Dude, if you read through this thread, you'd realize someone already posted that.. I was confused when they won it in '81... I mean it was only 35 years ago...

Take a xanax and relax....

1995 DeQuincy Tigers
Lost 43-0 to Haynesville in the dome

J/J
But those 90s Haynesville teams were nasty. They could play with any team at any class in the state. Didn’t hurt that they had a whole roster full of 19yr olds. Lol

98 LCP, made it to the semis and blew a 17-0 halftime lead against West St John who went on to win state.

That team was loaded but came up just short

Yeah something to do with a WJ violation and not getting the appeal done on time...

Refresh my memory...

I do remember Ehret having that receiver Peanut Johnson who was basically on some JP prison program where they go to high school...

Probably not worthy of being mentioned, but I occasionally wonder how Woodlawn in 2002 would done in the playoffs if they did not blow that big lead at home to Tara in the 1st round. They won district that year, and their only reg. season loss was to Catholic.

92-93 Lafayette High went 10-0 but was found to have used an ineligible player and got wins taken away.

2009 Central High, scored a point for every minute played that season. Beat a Catholic High team 62-21 who went on to play in the Semi-finals. That was the team who had the Briscoe brothers and lit everyone up that year.

peanut was rb in 80 tyronne vaughn was reciever in 81 but Tyronne was not the jailbird...

Slidell(led by bama signee larry abney) West Jeff and Ehret all have 1 loss going into last weekend of season - slidell beat ehret, west jeff beat slidell, bonnabel beat WJ so.. in week 10 if ehret beats west jeff(saturday game) they are in.. if west jeff wins they are in...) slidell is in via point system no matter what... ehret beats WJ 46-45 in arguably one of the best prep games ever in NOLA..... but it comes out that bonnabel had used an ineligible player vs west jeff - so they will have to forfiet..... thus give WJ only 1 loss and making it a 3 way tie for first which puts slidell and wj in playoffs.... ehret was scheduled to play HC on friday in first round that game got delayed all the way until sunday PM by LHSAA wrangling and haggling.... ehret went on to win state.. wj sat home.. slidell made it to quarters where they were beaten by state runner up covington.....

The system back then was pretty strange from what I remember...

In '81-'82, my senior year, I remember Rummel only losing to Jesuit 20-17 and Holy Cross 22-21, and not making the playoffs.

Not like today with playoff seeds... Well, before they screwed it up with the split..

that 17-10 game was one of the best games.. although I don't think 18 got the ball across the plane on that td
