Who is the better athlete, the best baseball player in the world or the best golfer in the world? This is with the understanding that they both have accute hand eye coordination.

Also to be clear, I think a top golfer is more skillful than a top pitcher

Skill level seems close. Both are pretty damn skilled. I’d have to confidently guess that pitchers are significantly more athletic on average, though.

A top golfer is more skilled. But a baseball player is by far the better athlete.

Seems to me that a golfer has a lot more room for error.

Scottie is pretty damn good at everything. He’s got great recent film out on the basketball court. He’s also elite at pickleball. And that’s just what we know about. Point is, he is arguably a better athlete than Ohtani unless Ohtani is also good at other sports other than baseball.

Xander Schaffaule likely couldn’t even be high school all state at any sport besides golf

Ohtani would be all state in high school at every single sport

This thread is straight up one of the worse ever

Just imagine ohtani, trout, and judge in all sports competition vs Xander, Scottie, and Rory

Is all time dumb

Golf is more mental. I mean the ball is right there everytime. Baseball is about reaction and requires more physical skill plus 100mph at your chin has no comparison in golf. I do think that a baseball swing makes it harder to learn to hit a golf ball. Hard to unlearn that muscle memory

Baseball pitcher. In fact, many MLB pitchers are also very good golfers but I don't know of any pro golfers that are also good pitchers.

Do you know anybody at all who pitches as a hobby outside of their day job?

Well this didn’t go how I thought it would lol. Was a good ole fat Harry’s debate and I guess I concede that a pitcher is probably more athletic in the traditional sense, but I think being #1 golfer in the world is more impressive than being the best pitcher in the MLB (way more skill is involved).

You think Xander and Scottie are more impressive than ohtani and skenes?

The baseball players are better athletes, but I am far more impressed by the golfers. I’m pretty biased though.
