what should he be doing, realistically?

they know the prospects in the Yankees system, which is fruitful. They should get a good player or 2, and be able to flip Castro for something

Stanton has killed 2 deals, and is owed a ton of money. It's not like he signed the dude

If Cashman can land Stanton and then still get under $197 million, just go ahead and give him the executive of the year award for 2018 too.

Traded one guy that has the equal salary of the other guy. Thanks to a guy that played for him five years ago being friendly. Yeah what a genius. Stanton should have never been allowed to be a traded for the scraps that have been thrown around. Thanks league office.

A bag of balls?

Honestly getting Castro back should force the Yankees to throw in a decent prospect. Castro is not returning anything of value in a trade, so they probably keep him

Castro will make $10 million in 2018. Stanton will make $25 million.

He's a decently affordable contract with only two years left. That is the value.

11 million for 18
12 million for 19
16 million option or 1 million buyout for 20

So 24 million over 2 years for a 1.2 WAR player. Yea it's not horrible, but he has very little trade value.

Didn’t Red Sox also made an offer for Stanton?

Yeah Frazier needs a role, unless they trading him for a pitcher which could be likely

He only waived his no-trade clause for the Yankees, Astros, Dodgers, and Cubs so it didn't really matter..

Wait a 2 WAR 2B is worth nothing to you?

I know, but I don’t think it’s fair to rip on Red Sox GM if he tried to deal for Stanton, but Stanton refused to go there.

Red Sox are a lock for Martinez or Moustakas probably both

He only played 112 games last year, so his WAR would have even been higher too.

I wonder if Angels make a play for Moustakas? He is from there.

LF: Upton
CF: Trout
RF: Calhoun
1B: Cron
2B: Cowart (Castro?)
SS: Simmons
3B: Moustakas
C: Maldonda
DH: Pujols

pitching would be key as the lineup wouldn't be bad

Yeah, I still don’t like the Angels pitching. Maybe they get Darvish, Arietta, or Lynn.
