Shoemaker, Richards, Ohtani, Skaggs, Heaney, Bridwell, Jesse Chavez, JC Ramirez?

Hell not sure how that will play out, they need Richards healthy

None of those guys impress me other than Ohtani. Darvish, Arietta, or Lynn would make a lot of sense.

Richards if healthy is the ace, however, he hasn't been healthy since 2015
Shoemaker is a midrotation guy
Ohtani would be the #2 I guess
Bidwell is a young guy who showed promise last year
Rest would just be innings eaters so Lynn would make sense unless they don't believe Richards will come back healthy.

The Angels lineup is still rather underwhelming if you ask me. Trout is the best all-around player in baseball but the rest of it aside from Ohtani is pretty meh. Upton is a good player but he’s very inconsistent.

Simmons had a hell of a year last year

Calhoun and Cron needs to hit like like they did in 2016 and then the lineup is a lot better.

His WAR is artificially inflated by Yankee stadium and his improbable 20 homers.

His projection is only about 1.2 WAR. Since he plays poor defense and doesn't walk. Plus he is owed 24 million dollars for the next 2 years.

So very little trade value

Well hell, never trade for a Yankees, Rockies, Astros player because their stadiums artificially inflate stats....

plays fairly average defense actually.... not good but no he isn't going to win a GG

Oh a projection got ya....

He has posted 2.3, 1.7, 1.3, and 2.7 WAR over the past 4 years so yea he is about a 2WAR player still.

Look Castro is not a great player he is an average player because of the walks and he quit stealing bases. He doesn't bring defensive value but he isn't going to hurt either. Marlins will trade him for a couple of prospects but none will be elite

Those same projections have Stanton having an absolutely monster 2018, and Judge/Sanchez having another great season.

So I'm down.

When you a hit a bunch of homers that are barely enough, that is why his projections are so low

He is below average. DRS and UZR/150 all well below average since moving last two years.

What do you think teams use to value players in a trade?

Where you getting your WAR values from? Last 5 years

Fangraphs: 1.9, 1.1, 0.8, 2.8, 0.1
Basebaell-Ref: 2.0, 1.3, 0.7, 2.1, -0.4

Even if we are generous and say 1.5, a WAR is worth about 6-8 million dollars on the open market. AT best he is paid market rate.

For a team like the Marlins he really has no value, but they had to take him on to offset the salary for the Yankees. But as far a trade value goes... he wont get much at all.

Was looking at his offensive/defensive war on baseball reference, my bad on that part.

Considering the Marlins just traded their 2B he has value, however, they will move him probably to the Mets. I stated he will not command a top prospect but he should net 1 average guy and then some low level player.

I agree... they will move him probably trying to dump the salary.

Even with new ownership.. they are cheap bastards.
