#Florida State president John Thrasher says myocarditis issue came up on P5 commissioners call and caused some to reassess. Says ACC presidents already had it on their radar and feel comfortable with protocols. Says SEC and ACC are aligned, some in B1G and Pac-12 "vacillating."

How often is myocarditis occurring in Covid patients should be the real question.

It's something that can be caused by other viruses and colds...things that are common and have not shut down the world

It’s also super easy to test for if you decide to test for it. All you have to do is test everyone who gets covid for myocarditis. And if they have it then they don’t play.

Yeh no shite. It’s been on everyone’s radar since it was discovered to be caused by viral infections over 100 years ago

Big10 and pac 12 just got pieces of shite like dellenger and wolken to push their agenda

The Academic sides of many Universities for decades have been unhappy with the publicity and financial support Football primarily and sports in general have gotten. I have watched it unfold for decades at Tulane. Their wet dream has always been to end football which they see as barbaric and beneath them and their institutions prestige and intelligence. What we are witnessing is those factions at susceptible Universities ie Big 10 and Pac 12 trying to capitalize on the situation and either deemphasize or severly harm the sport. They are jealous and small individuals who can not grasp the fact that the Head Football Coach makes vastly more than they do at an Academic Institution. Thank Christ the SEC and players themselves are holding the line here.

Yeah, it's pretty incredible how the media can cause so much fear about things we have been living with just fine forever. For instance, Tuberculosis causes over 4000 deaths every day worldwide. Over 1 million children alone get it every year worldwide. It can take over 2 years to recover. The mortality rate is over 12%, killing 1.5 million people last year. It has a vaccine that reduces the risk of contracting it by only 20% and prevents it from turning active by 60%; however, it is not common in North America so we don't get vaccines for it unless we show symptoms. It would take about 5 minutes for the media to cause people to freak out about TB if they wanted to.

If the media reported on tuberculosis like they are covid-19, liberals would be demanding Trump build a wall into outer space to keep the Mexicans out

This isn't news. Stuff like this has been understand for viral diseases since like the turn of the 20th century and athletes are already monitored for this if they do get sick

Dellenger’s article was such a hack job.

There was no attempt to be objective and compare/contrast covid with any other known virus to cause this

During swine flu(which actually killed 1000s of college kids but nobody gave a frick), we had an outbreak on the team

Those who got it had to re-run their EKGs and labs.

One person had inflamation, they sat out until it went away

Right about that story Dellenger you fricking hack. Contact me here and Ill give you the full details

I took an athletic training class in high school, they taught us that back then. This being the new talking point is just so absurd

Yeah, the former FSU basketball player that died of a heart attack after contracting pneumonia was told not to exercise at all and when he was cleared, to quit if he felt fatigued (basically, take it easy). He completely ignored doctors'advice and worked out regularly anyways, not only training before he was cleared but also taking it too far when he was cleared. Now, people like Dan Wolken are pointing the finger at myocarditis as a result of COVID19 as if it was an unknown when he consulted with team physicians. (He tested negative for COVID19 twice after contracting pneumonia on July 6 before finally testing positive for COVID19 in late July)

I honestly have never seen anything like this in sports. I’ve seen it in politics but not sports. In 48 hours it’s like a dozen or so media members started saying the exact same thing at a volume of 11. The thing they are screaming will cause them to lose their jobs.

A few things can explain this is they are getting led on by people in the big ten and then got burned. Two they care most about being right and are trying to shift the narrative to be right. Third an underlying agenda.

I think it’s a combo of all three but it’s still crazy

think a whole bunch of the higher ups at schools dont want to play this year cause they want to squash the current player organization movement and this is a byproduct of that

I mean, the fact that a billion dollar athletic industry that is attached to universities exists is absurd when you think about it.

1000 articles being sent aroung about Covid and Heart damage and they are almost all based on two FATALLY FLAWED studies that JAMA and 1000 slanted publications have used. One was 39 GERMANS who died of Covid with an average age of 85 and the other was 100 GERMANS who tested positive and had an average age of 49. JAMA actually used the word relatively young to describe an average age of 49. I would like to consider myself relatively young but not so much am I.
There was no negative control group studied in either.
There were no previous images of the heart studied.
There was no accounting for other comorbidites.
For the 39 who died in the study with folks averaging 85 there was no accounting for the possibility of the radical treatment or comorbidities causing the issues.
Germans smoke at almost double the rate of Americans.
Not to mention that myocarditis can be caused other things like the common cold, STRESS. long term usage of many otc and prescription drugs as well as alcohol or illegal drugs,. poor diet or physical fitness,. exposure to certain chemicals, such as carbon monoxide, radiation, yeast infections, such as candida, molds, such as aspergillus, other fungi, such as histoplasma, often found in bird droppings, numerous bacteria including staphylococcus, streptococcus, the bacterium that causes diphtheria and the tick-borne bacterium responsible for Lyme disease. diseases including disorders such as lupus, Wegener's granulomatosis, giant cell arteritis and Takayasu's arteritis. None of these possibilities were explored in these limited studies.
Neither study would EVER have been taken seriously with such low numbers and no controls except for the flawed conclusions fitting an agenda
