Yes, we know. A few years ago Pittsburgh won a Stanley cup while being the 4th seed. We also know what has happened every year since. Always seems like Sid and Malkin run out of gas. Who will be there to pick up the slack this year?

Actually, it was six years ago. The Yankees beat the Phillies in the World Series that year, and I don't think anyone is putting money on either of those teams to return. Six years is an eternity in sports.

The Caps' blueline corps six years ago was Green, Schultz, Poti, Morrissonn, Jurcina, and Erskine. Only three of those players still draw an NHL paycheck and only one is still in the top six of his team's depth chart.

And since that Cup, the Pens have won one more playoff series than the Caps. One. I'm very intimidated.

And your team hasn't won shite. So pipe down until you win something, ever. Until then you're not shite, literally, Capitals couldn't have less history of failure.

Yes, but I'm not the one promoting my series as a Stanley Cup preview, am I? In order for something to be a Cup preview, it has to involve two powerhouse clubs, not just the Blackhawks.

Tell NBC that then. Whoops.

Know your place. You talk way too much shite for a fan of such a pathetic franchise. My god.

Other than the pitiful lost against Columbus, the Blues have been playing pretty well. That series against Chicago was awesome last year, and I wouldn't mind seeing that again come playoff time (as long as the result is different).

I don't think many Blues fans would want that series again. Entertaining sure, until they lose again.

The only thing that scares me about the East is that the fricking Islanders look like a team of destiny. It's been 30 years since the drive for 5, plus the closing of Nassau Coliseum.

Big game for the Habbies tonight against Detroit. Hopefully Gonchar can get back in the lineup.

And also my weekly "where the Frick is PA Parenteau" post

Now, a Blues-Caps Cup Final would thwart the hockey gods to such a degree that a fissure might open up in the fabric of spacetime. The two most cursed franchises in the league, and one of them guaranteed to take home the Cup? Now, THAT is a Stanley Cup preview worth watching.

Buy bottled water.

I just get a kick out of Hog thinking the Pens are on the same level as the Hawks and the Kings. They aren't. Y'all are down here with us. You haven't been to the Finals in six years, and to the ECF only once in that span. Someone here doesn't know his team's place... and it ain't me.

And the Caps have never won anything or been anywhere, so pipe down until they do.

Our core has actually won something, your core is equal to the Oilers in accomplishments.

Be like Blues fans trying to talk shite. Hell at least the Flyers have won something, even if it was 40 years ago.

I loved it as a hockey fan from an entertainment value. I hated it as a blues fan because of the result. I'd obviously prefer to play someone with less playoff experience, but haven't watched enough this season to feel confident in my knowledge of most of the teams. I'm assuming the playoff system is that same weird way it was last year?

Kulikov only got 4 games for this hit. Seguin will be out longer than that. Well done, Wheel o Justice.

So he deserves suspended longer for an unintentional hit?

I do not and did not at the time believe he went after him.

I believed it to be a poorly timed and executed hip check.

I saw that it was written well. I hate CP31 as a goalie (not as much this year) not as a person.

I am still wary of May and June.
