He will never make the HOF because you have to retire first.

Why not? He was on some awful teams and all he's ever done is produce.

Hes only been 2and team all pro once. Never led the league in any statistic in any season ever. He has very very rarely been in the top 5 for any stat either, I think he was in 06 in YPC. But other than that he barely even cracks top 10 in stats most seasons. It'd be like if Eli Manning was ringless he would sniff the HoF. It's cool hes lasted for a long time but hes been basically average for the entire time and never won a ring to boost his average stats.

It's cool to root for him and be a fan of his. But HoF? Come on man.

Gore is a lock.

Only player in nfl history with 1200 from scrimmage in 12 consecutive years.

Five touchdowns in 11 consecutive seasons. Best in league history.

He ain’t first ballot. But he is going in.

And yet as the 3rd or 4th leading rusher in the history of the league he’ll not only sniff tHOf but will be be inducted on the first ballot.

If you're in the top three of the most important category for running backs you are a HOF! I don't care how he got there, he is there. He is also the last of the breed, those numbers will probably never be touched with the way todays game is played. When he and Adrian Peterson retire we won't see those numbers again.

Anyone surprised that Curtis Martin is so high on the list? Seems like all the other names got their respective recognition. Martin seems like the forgotten one.

Gore’s probably the greatest RB in 49ers history and that’s a bold statement considering John Henry Johnson, Joe Perry, Hugh McElhenny, Roger Craig, Ricky Watters, and Garrison Hearst all played for the red and gold

He's mentioned from time to time for not being respected. Wasn't flashy at all as a runner.

I always thought he made smart decisions with good vision and it just added up.
