Bottas might not run his IG, but we for sure know he reads it. "To whom it may concern, frick you".

Kimi's has to be run by Minttu. Legit funny content on there without being tryhard.

Calling his kids icecubes and such.

Bottas used to reply to his detractors. Even screenshotted and talked some trash one time.

Carlos definitely runs his as well.

Mazespin obviously ran his last year, not sure now.

Do you ever see some of the dumb shite he post? 100% Lewis runs his own account, if not he’s paying someone to make him come off as a moron.

It is almost sad that a lot of what he posts is just him by himself. Almost like he is one of those child stars that never learned the proper social skills. Can't imagine the level of intensity he lives with being conducive to a active social life.

Could just be the life he wants though.

Saw even him and Nico seem to be mending so that is a positive.

He’s a different cat, for sure. I mean, who would believe the greatest race car driver of all time is a tatted up vegan, fashion loving, climate change activist

On a podcast he did(maybe Beyond the Grid?) he sort of touched on how his dad really pushed him to portray the image that was expected when young, almost had a Michael Jackson/Joe Jackson-ish vibe to it.

I think it was for Japan 2019 that FP3 was cancelled and qualifying got pushed back to Sunday morning due to an incoming typhoon. They were asking drivers what they’d do in the spare time, Danny Ric said he’d drink, Grojean said he was going to built a model Tyrell car, some of the younger drivers were going to hang out and play PlayStation. Lewis said he was going to fly to Tokyo and catch a fashion show or something along those lines.

I don't know if you gain enough to invite the addiction into your life.

It does reveal some of their personal life. Danny Ric secretly owning a Mclaren while at Red Bull. Seb's car collection. Lewis somewhat secretly owning a Mclaren F1 (and the Zonda). Max's weird posts about his sister. Albon's entire household runs an account for their pets. Russell topless.

Lando does twitch streams watching things like Mclaren Unboxed and says some pretty candid stuff.

Dropped a Pussycat Doll so he could devote all of his time to Roscoe. James Hunt is laughing from above.

Any more revelations from Pirelli on the fiasco that could have hurt two young stars?

It usually takes a few days. Even after the fiasco in 2013(?) at Silverstone Pirelli admitted to some fault.

That time teams were putting tires on backwards and the tires were basically unwinding over time. Pirelli had given them the ok to do so. Things changed after that.

I must say, reading the last 5-6 pages running up to the restart, while knowing the Hamilton result, was very satisfying

Not surprisingly, Pirelli is blaming debris...

From what I read they are initially blaming debris because Ham had a cut tire? But couldn’t Ham have picked up a cut because of the run off when he cooked the brakes? Not buying this from Pirelli. Teams had no data, at least what I heard during broadcast, of tire issues. Seems a cut would give a bit of data before going.

HAM wasn't the only one with cut tires. They were the tires taken off on the red flag stop. Before he went Hiroshima on his front brakes.

Bottas had the same thing on that straight a few years back. It is plausible.

Debris hitting the tire would give no warning. Maybe a slight vibration.

Not saying RBR was lying about data or trying to be dramatic. But it behoved them to have a red flag and not restart. The restart was a little surprising.

He changed tires during red didn’t he? That’s my only reasoning that he must have picked up a cut in the run off. I am admittedly new to F1 but it seems to me those 2 crashes seem eerily similar.

Pretty much the entire field went through the debris field left by the Verstappen crash, it would be plausible that the cut tire was caused by going through that as well.

I think everyone changed tires under the red. The only reason the red was called was for tires. Those tires are the ones Pirelli is referencing.

Well, Masi is a terrible race director so he may have called the red to have the race end under green per Liberty wanting views.

That restart was an odd one. There was literally no delay between five reds and lights out.

Max delay is 3.0 seconds.
Min delay is 0.2 seconds.

They occur in intervals of 0.2, so there are fifteen possible delays times. Rare, but it happens. Same as the full three seconds.

A bit of drama at Haas and Williams.

LINK

quote:

The F1 rookie’s father and Haas title sponsor Dmitry Mazepin last week complained that the Russian military is insisting that his 22-year-old son complete his mandatory service.

“Nikita has 23 races to do this year, and they are telling him that he needs to join the army,” Dmitry Mazepin, head of the Uralchem company, was quoted as saying.

“He said to me, “Dad, what should I do? I have a race every two weeks’. Nobody wants to listen.”

I'm thinking Russia might just want Dmitry Mazepin to spend some money to make the military obligation go away.

At Williams, they have an org shakeup and new team principal.

LINK

quote:

The restructure of Williams, following the arrival of new owners Dorilton Capital, continues with news that Simon Roberts will leave the Formula 1 team, as CEO Jost Capito absorbs his Team Principal duties...

Roberts joined Williams last June in the newly-created role of Managing Director, before taking over as Acting Team Principal when the Williams family sold the team last August. That role was made permanent before Christmas, as he was charged with managing the transition.

Capito, who joined the team just over four months ago, has been conducting a review of the outfit, and after 100 days in charge has decided to complete an internal reorganisation to simplify the reporting structure, which means Roberts’ role as Team Principal – or Racing Director as it is known internally – no longer exists.

Capito will take on the role of Team Principal, while the trackside leadership duties held by Roberts will be transferred to Technical Director Francois-Xavier Demaison, putting him charge of technical aspects across the factory and race track.
