Wasnt the claim that RBR and Aston (Perez former team) under-inflating?

Tire companies never admit when they make bad tires.

Only happened to two teams.

Didn't happen again.

Hamilton would have already had 8 championships and would have been competing for his 9th today (8th in a row) if his engine didn't fail most unexpectedly at the 2016 Malaysian grand prix. Retirements are part of the game. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts....

Anyone who wants to see Hamilton get kicked in the nuts repeatedly should watch 2016.

Redux version is The Silver War on youtube.

Come to think of it, if Lewis doesn't have that engine blow up in 2016 in Malaysia and he takes the wet pit entry 10 mph slower in the 2007 Chinese Grand Prix instead of beaching his McLaren in the gravel, we would be looking at 9-time driver champion looking for his 10th championship today. He could have won this year too, if not for that brain fart while failing to set up his brakes properly at the Baku restart. That's the difference between ending the year with 10 WDCs and ending with 7.

Sometimes it comes down to little things that don't feel that big in the moment, but can have an outsized impact at the end of the season and sometimes whole careers too.

Well thats true of course, but the tires exploding like that are even rarer these days.

Toto caught cheating. His tires are bigger. Didn't pass post race inspection. Video evidence supports. Claimed his scooter weight demanded that Masi allow the infraction.

I like how this whole season the F1 circuit was wearing masks pretty much for show.

It’s something that cracked me up all season. The drivers were completely randomized in wearing them. Horner and Toto basically said f it at the end of the season too. Horner was the only one I saw walking around during qualifying this weekend without one

I think we should all raise a glass and toast Sebastian Vettel for winning Formula 1's inaugural Overtake Award, given to the driver who achieves the most overtakes in the season.

Of course, to achieve this award, you must always be coming from behind. Nevertheless, we'll done.

Congrats Sebastian! May you receive a million jelly beans for your success!

Seb also brought home the inaugural Grill the Grid trophy. Really racked up the hardware.

Rumors are Merc is dropping taking the appeal any further. I think that's for the best for everyone involved.

Vettel has had a really great run. Hoping he can be an impactful driver next year. Would really like to see him take a pole and land a few podiums.

Agreed, I was telling a friend this morning that Mercedes pushing to sue reminded me of when Saints fans were trying to sue the NFL for the no-call PI a few years ago. It's a no-win spot where they likely get no where and look petty and bitter.

It would certainly not do Mercedes any good to carry around the stench of a loss in the appeal. They would bear that albatross around their necks for all of the next season.

Just be the better man, take your lumps and move on, working towards better clarity in how the rules can be fairly applied.

Honestly to Mercedes the WDC is nothing compared to the Constructors. If this had decided the Constructors as well then it would be a complete shite show beyond imaginable

Agreed. Merc is a no-win situation. Best just to move on and fight another day.

That doesn't absolve FIA of their shenanigans. That definitely needs to get worked out before next year.
