Maybe if both were on mediums Lewis had a chance. RBR has been superior on the softest tires the last 5 races.
Did you miss the first 14 laps?

Merc wasn't giving up track position. They played their hand and won up until Masi took matters into his own hands.

That's F1 though.

Not at all. Lewis was on 15 lap old mediums at the race start? Did Max not catch him?

Lap 49 is when Horner says “We need a miracle”

I need to hang with him as it sounds like God listens.

I often wonder why F1 doesn't sell copies of the old seasons, not just recaps but full seasons maybe even include qualy.
I'm this day and age, the details of distribution rights are much more clear cut than in years past. Could be questions about ownership of those. Broadcaster? Production company? FIA? Who knows.

Nope. Lewis pulled away pretty easily.

You can weave down the straight. You just have to stick to your line when you get into the braking zone.

Max wasn't weaving to defend a pass per se, he was weaving to prevent lewis from getting the slipstream.

I thought a newer hybrid-era rule said you couldn't weave to prevent a slip stream? Maybe I'm making that up. I'm probably making that up.

Latifi wreck on lap 53 and Ham is up 11.9 at this point.

Ham could have pulled into the PIT, but didn’t and Ham did… Went oppo strategy.

That was the understanding, but Alonso v FIA 2021 kind of proved that they weren't going to enforce it.

Brundle just said “The lapped cars have to un lap themselves” so they knew the precedent. It’s the fact that Massi didn’t do it immediately.

You realize he would have given up track position though.

Yes, I know that… Just stating he had the chance to and they passed on it.

And again, without Checo knocking off 10 seconds or so, Hamilton likely would have jumped in because he would have been 21 seconds up on lap 53 under SC. Could have PIT and easily come out still in front on fresh softs.

I am one of the weird people of yesteryear who actually wants to own them, even if it costs me significantly more.

They passed on losing track position? Yeah, everyone would have.

Your whole argument the last 30 min has been Checo did nothing to help Max and that just isn’t true.

He closed the gap so Hamilton didn’t have the cushion to jump in.

Even if they didn’t do it at VSC lap 37, they could have at lap 54 when he would have been up nearly 20 seconds.

I don't think he changed the safety car or what Merc did under it.

Maybe the gap was larger, but maybe it was only 17 seconds.
