Deduct season total +1 from everyone, they're all guilty by association. MAZ hasn't been involved in anything and suffers no penalty. Mazepin wins his first WDC!!!

Actually, Maz is in the middle of it all and Robert Kubica wins the WDC having raced 1 race.

It was two, Zandvoort and Monza. Even with 2 races he's still ranked above Mazepin, 20th and 21st. If you don't have points they go by your best finish. So both have a 14th place finish, so it goes to your next best result. Kubica has a 15th, Mazepin has a bunch of 17ths. So in order for Mazepin to finish 20th in the WDC he'd need to score a 15th, then him having additional results would top Kubica having zero additional results.

Schedule for CST

quote:

Breakfast in the UAE usually features breads like raqaq, khameer, and chebab, served with cheese, date syrup, or eggs. These were made over a curved hot plate, resembling a stone, which would have been used by the Bedouins. Balaleat is another dish, but its advent began with the traders, who introduced pasta.

Sweet options include luqeymat, a deep fried ball of pancake batter that is rolled in sesame seeds and then drizzled with date honey. Other desserts include khabeesa, which is flour bread crumbs blended with sugar, cardamom, and saffron or bethitha, a semolina blended with crushed dates, cardamom, and clarified butter.

At the close of the meal, it is usual to serve a red tea infused with mint as a digestive. Other mealtime traditions include a welcome with dates and gahwah (Arabic coffee), which are offered on arrival and are kept available through the guests visit.

Levantine food is sometimes confused with Emirati/Khaleeji, but shawarma, hummous, tabbouleh, and mixed grill, whilst having similar characteristics, are fairly recent additions to the Emirati diet

Sad its almost over... Been a fun season.

However, am def ready for next year and what may be a more even playing field with all the changes.

Since you mentioned the future, does anyone care to share what they think next year will look like?

I'm a McLaren fan and I really don't see them competing for 3rd next year. I don't think they can get the same performance out of the Merc and there are all the rumblings about a partnership or sale with VW/Audi/Porsche.

My preference is a McLaren-Audi partnership when the new engine regs come and that they keep the McLaren name. Assuming Audi enters F1, spend the next 2-3 years getting ready to go with the new engine while competing for 3rd or 4th.

I would also like to see 1-2 new teams (effective with the new engine regs) just to add to the chaos.

Not to dash your hopes, but chances of the VW Groups entering looks slim. Diess was a big supporter of going F1 and he just got slapped down.

Thanks - I had not checked lately but know there are some meetings coming around Dec 20th to firm up or finalize engine regs.

Yikes! It appears Pirelli wasn't aware of the new Abu Dhabi kerbs...

You've got to be shitting me...

So when we get random blowouts Sunday that impact the championship, we know who to blame.

Maybe it was in this thread or on reddit, but I read where these new curbs weren't in critical places, so the effect should be minimal. Should.

Anything can happen though. Them starting their own team does seem really unlikely though. Being a major sponsor to an existing team might happen.

I expect the teams that are good now to continue to be good with the 2022 cars with some others maybe having nailed figuring it out. Winter testing will be fun to watch as this will be my first time seeing F1 after a major change.

You still have to remain excited for McLaren's 2021 results even though they seem to have fell off a bit towards the end. They had to burn a development token on the Merc engine fitment so I expected them to be further behind than they were. I figured pre-testing they'd be fighting with Alpha Tauri, Aston, and Alpine, not in a close battle for 3rd with Ferrari with a handful of podiums and a 1/2 under their belt. They're a very likeable team so I hope they can continue their path to success.

I’m mainly concerned that RIC who usually needs a year in a car to perform now has another new car next year.

I could see Mclaren being the pack leader next year. They have steadily improved and despite the engine swap this year they put together a really good car.

It feels like they’d design in the same spirit, though, right? His issue was late braking in a car where that wasn’t a good way to drive it, so I think it’ll be a bit different. I could be wrong though.
