What is the speed like in person? Seems like the TV makes them look slower than real life.

Definitely fast. Somehow the camera angles on the broadcast don’t accurately capture the speed to me. Just an observation.
Is it Silverstone that has the uphill just past the start / finish line? The behind cars camera angle at that spot seems to be the only one that accurately shows the speed to me. Could be a different track.

Properly fast. No other race series come within 10 seconds on F1 on this track.
Indy is 12 seconds off the pace and they ignore track limits.
GT3, which is maybe the closest thing to a road car you will find, in day to day, laps almost 30 seconds slower.

F1 loves doing 100% panning shots. They rarely ever have a stationary camera that shows their speed. It's mind boggling why the don't have at least one stationary camera for each race.
