DotD is always awkward. Really needs to end.

I think that Merc thought there was gonna be more rain.

They told him to pit 8 laps before he finally did.

Once that passed on that opportunity they should have went the whole race.

I was really hoping Vettel's gamble was going to pay dividends but damn that had to be one of the toughest laps of his life on the mediums

Better 5th than 12th.

Very difficult to say. A lot of it depends on his car setup

Great job by Perez
Is there any doubt after that spat that Red Bull easily has the superior car this year? Hamilton was ahead of Perez when they essentially started drag racing that straight, and by the end Perez was easily ahead of Hamilton.

It’s a track by track issue. A
I mean, A Mercedes’ car won the race by a large margin.

Sure, but there are many factors in that. Verstappen talked about how they didn’t really know how to manage the inters so they ended up managing the whole race without ever really pushing.
This is 2 cars essentially drag racing down the longest straight of the track, and despite car 1 starting at a slight advantage with the superior driver, car 2 easily wins

Not really. A lot of it has to do with speed coming out of the previous corner. Hamilton ran him down, after all, and Bottas did win without being challenged.

Sainz driver of the day. The interview was pretty awkward. He’s like “oh, this has never happened to me before. I’m, it was a nice race I guess I’ve had other nice races.”
Sainz seems genuine to me. Been a fan for a while.

I am open about him being my favorite driver rather definitively. Yes, I think he’s openly honest and genereally underrated. He does make mistakes but he also does some masterclass stuff I don’t see other drivers doing very often.
To a certain degree I like most F1 drivers but some of the underrated guys like Sainz and Gasley I can’t help but consider them my guys

Three races ago I thought RBR had the superior car, but I think Merc has pulled back even.
So hard to tell with them all running different engine settings due to power unit changes.
Austin and Mexico will be great races to see these machines battle.

It was a reallly rough lap for him. Seems hard to believe it was that bad out there but I also don't remember too many races that were Inters the whole race either.

Yeah, me too. We're going to Spain next May. My dream is to have dinner with the Sainz family while we are on Mallorca and then attend the Spanish Grand Prix. I'm fairly certain part two will happen. Part one is going to take some work.

I like both the Ferrari drivers. I pulled for Carlos at Mclaren.

Would anyone want to work for Franz Tost? Dude comes across as a fricking complete a-hole. His driver management is well known as being pretty brutal. And now when people complain he about the 23 season schedule, he comes out and says anyone who doesn’t want to be on the road traveling for 23 weeks of the years should frick off.
As a viewer, I’m happy with 23 races. But as someone pointed you, your going to start losing quality engineers more as they get frustrated with the lifestyle

The engineers who are in F1 are there for the love. Their pay isn't really competitive across most disciplines especially considering the demands.
No doubt the 23 weeks as well as triple-headers is going to be too much for a lot of people. Even last year team principles and higher ups were skipping the last races.
Ron Dennis makes him look like Santa Claus.
