Watching DTS and Gasly is just so easy to root for.

He is. Kindof got a raw deal moving to RBR. Hope to see him back at a top team, but not sure where it shakes out. Thought he would end up in Ocon's spot.

He has shown his ability as a driver, he just wasn’t ready for the move to rbr and comparing yourself to arguably the top driver right now is going to make you look bad. He will get his shot to move somewhere before too long, although the big teams all look like they are either set, or have someone waiting to fill a spot that may come open

It wasn't much time to truly tell what he could do at RBR. His average finishing position wasn't that much worse that what Perez is stringing together now.

Never say never, but a second ride with RBR doesn't seem likely. The word is that Gasly doesn't have the right attitude/ego/demeanor that Marko and Horner want. There seems to be some bad blood from things Gasly said when he was demoted.

Looks like Aston is going to hit a speed bump in their appeal. There was a failure in an air pump that allowed the fuel to escape. Aston initially was banking on there being fuel in the tank, but not being able to get it out. Now it appears that the fuel they expected to be there is gone.

The appeal is still active, but this is new information that contradicts what Aston had believed.

Yeah, pretty sure he said he didn’t have much interest in returning to Red Bull after he showed out at AT. I don’t think he likes being a 2nd driver at all

Marko made a comment that Gasly still has a lot of time on his Red Bull contract. So maybe there is more of a future there than everyone believes.

Not sure what clauses Marko has on Gasly or what options Gasly has.

Aston dropped their appeal. Seb loses 2nd place.

Also, Ferrari brought up wanting the cost cap to not include repairs done due to damage from other drivers.

Guenther basically responded saying too fooking bad, the teams need to account for wrecks because that is racing. Think Guenther sees it as an advantage for larger teams to spend outside the budget cap without worry for what happens on the track.

This could open up a weekend for a second race at Austin. If not it leaves a 3 week break between Turkey and Austin barring an additional race added.

I've heard that a second Austin GP is likely. The great state will make it happen.

Yall think they will add another race considering some teams could be low on power units and not wanting to take the penalties/spend the money?

I have gotten emails from COTA about interest in a second race in Austin, so they are definitely getting ready for it. putting it in the japanese GP spot might be too hard for them to get ready in time with tickets vendors etc. figured it would be the november 21st date.

More of an F1/FIA money decision than a team vote. Australia is already canceled in that stretch so they really need a race. There was kickback on 3 weeks in a row earlier this year, but special circumstances and all.

What are restrictions like in Austin for covid? I know it is Texas, but it is also Austin.

They might add 1, but I highly doubt they add 2.
