All they need to do is get through qualifying without incident... no F2 or F3 this weekend... they have the rest of the day and night to get it right

Looks like they’re clear to go. Drivers are getting in the cars.

I would imagine they're a bit shy on Indy... my favorite track is Road America, however Watkins Glen is the historical track for F1

I can't believe their about to drop him. If they do drop him for Checo, it'll be interesting to see how well he does in that shitbox next year. Russell gets everything out of it. I would think Checo could, too.

Well P1 and P2 are set again. Mercedes smoking everyone and doing it on the medium tires while everyone else is on the sorts.

I thought Bottas exceeded track limits in q3. Would love to see a replay

He did and so did Hamilton.

But the announcers said it earlier in qualifying. The stewards are being super strict in certain parts of the track and for teams not named mercedes.

Ok I added the mercedes part. But they did say that it was certain parts of the track.

Curious, why do you like George Russel. I see him as the most unlikable driver in the track.

Wtkins Glen seems like there wouldn’t be enough turns

I like Russell as well, I think he has been incredible at handling the shite sandwich he has been eating for the last few years. Look at Kubica as a reference on how he handled it.

I'm not saying Kubica doesn't have merit to what he said, or doesn't have the right to complain, but Russell probably has the same and has been very positive.

Also, if you haven't seen it, watch his Rookie of the Year presentation.

I don’t see Russell as that positive. It’s probably me but every time I pay attention to him, it seems like he’s throwing someone under the bus. And he might not be, but it sounds like it.

Only Indy and Austin are Grade 1 tracks as they sit. Not sure what would have to be done to get the other ones up to Grade 1.

A street circuit is probably the most likely for 2nd race.

I really liked Bottas at Williams as well, thought he would be a lot better than he has been at Merc.

Honestly, and they can’t do it, but it’d be really really cool to have a race along Lakeshore drive in Chicago. They already have an F1 festival where they have a a live track simulation next to Soldier field

The full Glen circuit has more than enough turns and length.

The issue is all the Armco and lack of pit space and being in the middle of nowhere.

The Glen may have made sense in 1979, it wouldn't have made any sense in 1990, let alone now.
