The New York/New Jersey plan was really cool. Would have liked to see that come to fruition.

We're having a Indy street circuit here in Nashville next year. Not the best layout, but I'm still pretty excited about it. It goes over this bridge twice.

As for F1 in the US, I'd like Road America. I know it's not up to standards, but I've just always liked that track.

I like Road America too, but come on now.

It's narrow, poor, and remote.

And fast. Really fast.

Let's not pretend several of the European tracks aren't out in the boonies either.

I'll give you narrow.

Curious, why do you like George Russel.

Hes a damn good driver, stuck on a shitty team... he consistently gets more out of that car than half the drivers in the field could... and even though he has all the right in the world to complain about his team, it's rarely made public when or if he does

I like to see people like that succeed

I feel like most F1 viewers are high on Russell.

I am no exception. Dude's fast.

This is my first full season watching F1. Now that the teams and drivers are starting to plan for next year, I hear lots of people talking about how much money particular drivers bring to the team. How does that work? Where does the money come from?

Relationships and personal sponsorships really.

For instance, Carlos Slim had stated publicly that he wanted a Mexican F1 champion so he supported the most talented Mexican driver in the pipeline, Perez. Telmex has always been a Perez sponsor for that reason, it brings a billionaires money in the form of buy Perez a seat and getting his name on the car.

Same for Latifi this year, he wanted a seat so his Daddy forked over a lot of money and bought the seat and sidepods of the car.

Some companies just have a relationship with the driver due to history as well, Hamilton and Tommy Hilfiger I believe are one of these. Tommy would probably follow him if he left Merc, they have large ties outside of the car.

Kvyat brings Russian money of all forms
