The only reason I agree slightly is the sex offender for life tag. Not because of 40 fricking weeks.
The 40 weeks is nothing, having this public ruins you even if you are innocent
Regardless of his innocence, his life is ruined if it goes to trial, just like it is now

What is fricked up is he never admitted to anything. There was no evidence he commited what he was accused of. His parents took the deal to protect the family name.

He shouldn't have missed his registration.

frick him and OSU and their hypocritical POS president.

That is why no MLB team will touch him, no pun intended. The negative backlash they would face would just not be worth it

Play abusive incestuous games and lose privileges. It’s a shame and you like to see folks get a second chance in life, but any team that takes him on would have to deal with a media circus.

Oregon State does learn when a student is a registered sex offender, according to university spokesman Steve Clark. Oregon State Police send the university a list of registered sex offenders in Benton County "on a regular ongoing basis," Clark said. The university then cross-checks those names with its student database to verify sex offenders who have enrolled.
The state police would not say how often the agency provides such lists to the university.
Assuming that process worked, then university officials would have learned about Heimlich's sex-offender status sometime after his arrival on campus in fall 2014, before his rise to stardom.

OSU's top pitcher was 15 years old when the crime occurred in his family's home in Puyallup, Washington, according to court documents obtained last week by The Oregonian/OregonLive through a public records request. Juvenile court records in Washington, unlike in Oregon, are not automatically confidential.
All this info from 1 story.
I've provided links backing up what I've said. Y'all are just going off of shitty memory.

eh, talent wise he graded out as a top 2 round pick, IIRC.
The issue for any franchise isn't just whether he would contribute on a major league roster.
What Minor League team wants to deal with having that guy assigned to them when they're trying to sell family fun? Where could they possibly send him to develop?
This is pretty much the only option he has. He tried to go to Taiwan to play but their laws don't allow convicted felons to get work visas.
Posted on 3/7/19 at 11:29 am to TechDawg2007
He tried for months to get on with the Taiwanese baseball Allstars for some reason

At the time Oregon State had no rule requiring enrolling off-campus students—or athletes with or without scholarships—to declare criminal felony convictions or, specifically, sex offenses. The state police maintains Oregon's sex registry. Once notified by local police that a student has registered as a sex offender, it follows a courtesy agreement with OSU to alert its Department of Public Safety. In Heimlich's case such information would filter to select athletic department personnel.

But if you think an unrelated classmate in high school accusing rape is the same as someone's 6-year old niece accusing their uncle of touching them is the same then I don't know what else to tell you.
What's the difference? They are still peers. So because it's family, it's somehow different? Molestation is molestation regardless of who the victim is.

He tried to get on with the Chinese Professional Baseball League, which is the professional league in Taiwan.
He tried to get on there because it's probably the 3rd or 4th highest level of international baseball, behind Japan, Korea, and Mexico.
At the time he was trying to get on in Taiwan, Mexico wasn't an option. Mexico didn't really become an option until this week when the MLB rescinded their ban on signing LMB players.

Between this and the Baltimore panhandle hoax, Mexico is going to build a big, beautiful wall on its northern border.

Baseball is not the only profession. World needs ditch diggers too.
A world that doesnt follow competency hierarchies gets kind of shitty pretty quick.
The USA took all the smartest Nazis and used them to produce really cool and beneficial shite. They were worse than Luke Heimlich. Imagine if Operation Paperclip would have taken all those Nazi scientists and utilized them to lay bricks.

Agreed.
It’s one thing if he has misdemeanors.. petty theft, putting firecrackers in the toilets at McDonald’s but the dude is a child molestor.
I know according to the Bible all sins are equal but I don’t and can’t agree to that.
He doesn’t deserve to play MLB. If he does I hope the cousin can take half his money.
frick that guy. Sick sumbitch.

And your implying that's what happened here? Do you think the 6 year old girl made up the fact that her uncle was touching her and her uncle was willing to please guilty to child molestation just to avoid a trial?
From what I remember reading, the niece's parents were going through a custody dispute and the possibility that the mother coached the niece into these accusations so she could get full custody was in play.
