MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - A former Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets player is wanted for a burglary over the summer.

Manatee County Sheriff's Deputies have an active warrant for Steve Francis on burglary "to an unoccupied conveyance". Detectives in Texas learned about the charge after the former NBA star was arrested in Texas on a DWI charge.

According to authorities, two days after the incident, Francis walked into the Bradenton Police Department with a plastic bag full of stuff and said, "I just robbed somebody, take me to jail. I'm turning myself in". Authorities did not have a report of any crime in Bradenton so Francis walked free. The case was being handled by the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Some items were returned to the victim, but she said the cash and sentimental jewelry are still missing.

Damn.

Not sure I follow you, Francis was an absolute star in his day.

No matter what you feel about him now, you cannot seriously deny his status in his prime!

He was rookie of the year, 3 time all-star, super athletic, and averaged nearly 18/6/6 for his career.

He wasn't a superstar, but I don't know how you could question the use of "star" in his case.

Stevie has been getting a little bit too loose celebrating this start to the season that CC is having.

Wait, up until this year you were still thinking about playing again? Yeah, All-Star Weekend. Looking at the people out there playing, I’m like, Damn, if I just really, really focused one year, one time for six months… I can probably still do it, but I won’t.

Piggy backing off of Ryen Russillo's 30 for 30 idea but those Knicks teams he was on were such a trainwreck.

The DL lifestyle got the best of both of them.

One of my favorite times as a Rockets fan was his rookie season after Drexler retired and the Pippen experiment failed, Dream was barely playing, and when Barkley suffered his career ending injury. The change in style that Francis and Mobley brought was so fun to watch. Looked like a bridge to the future from the Dream years.

Sad that alcohol got the better of Steve.
