The underlying problem with the concept is that Burrow isn't a pussy. Pulling an Eli wouldn't be in his DNA.

Yeah. Winning two Super Bowls and two Super Bowl MVPs isn't in his DNA. Or were you saying the man who started the third most consecutive games in NFL history is a pussy?

Think before you speak dumbass

It's pretty obvious to me now that Burrow's agent is making sure this stuff gets out. Former Bengals players and another QB that went to a shite situation. What a coincidence. They're going to force a trade.

Dallas should trade Dak for Burrow on draft day.

Being Burrow is a local guy I dont see the Bengals blinking here. Their fan base would scalp them.

A lot can happen between now & draft day. With Burrow as the number one pick, the Bengals could easily acquire two or even three first round slot for there number one. Miami is sitting on three and the owner wants Burrow. The Raiders have a couple.

I would hate to see him got to Cinn, but he is from Ohio, so sort of a homecoming. Would be surprised if he pulled an Elway/Manning move. He is a tough kid that has that “tell me the rules & I will play” mentality...... regardless of the jersey color.

He should "pull an Eli." He already gave pro football in Ohio a fair try, at tO$U.

No one in this thread has mentioned how bad the Carolina Panthers want Burrow.

But the Bengals are under huge pressure to take the local kid in Burrow. They have tickets and jerseys to sell. It’s going to be Burrow.

As much as it would suck as a Saints fan, the best thing for Joe would be to force his way to Carolina and pick back up with Brady.

I don’t think you understand just how bad the Baltimore Colts franchise was run in 1983.

What leverage does he have exactly? Elway had the Yankees. Eli had his last name I suppose.
Burrow would have to convince them he'd sit for a year. I doubt he can convince them of that. They know how competitive and hard working Burrow is. Eli was a lifelong coaster.

Also, the narrative on here that going to a bad team will ruin an otherwise good QB's career is just ludicrously dumb.
Archie's career was wasted in New Orleans. Why do you think Eli did what he did? He didn't want to end up like his father.

Even as a little kid I thought what Eli did was a pansy move. I never could respect him or his career after that

How exactly do you expect Burrow to do that?

You do realize Brady has never been an OC and will now be up against NFL DC's?? Its pretty easy sledding when you are running an NFL system against college defenses. Both Brady and Burrow are going to get a good does of reality next season.

To be honest it would be in his best interests to "pull an Eli" but he'd take a much bigger beating for it for abandoning the home state team like that.
