for the beginning of their careers it was LeBron... MJ was just another #3 pick behind Hakeem and Sam Bowie.
King James was the supposed 18 year old savior of the league, the Chosen One...
just so you know, Jordan was cut in high school, Bron was on TV

I think MJ is number one, and LBJ is three.
Yao Ming brought basketball to billions.
Billions.

MJ is STILL a bigger deal than LJ and certainly was back when he was playing and in his prime.

Lebron isn't even as big as Kobe worldwide. This is easily MJ.

All this MJ and LBJ stuff should tell you enough...you can't talk about LBJ without bringing up MJ. MJ was, is, and will always be bigger than anybody in this sport. This is a dumb thread.

As far as being a big deal Kobe >> LBJ up to this point.

michael jordan was the greatest black man that ever lived back in the day. you could go to bfe africa and talk to some tribal person that doesnt even know what tv or basketball is and he would know who michael jordan was. heck the dude was even on tv in his draws.

My wife went to Ethiopia in 2008 as part of a law school project. All the kids over there would come up to her and ask if she knew Michael Jordan. These kids didn't even have pants or shoes but they knew who Michael Jordan was. They said stuff like "Go bulls" and "I love Chicago" because they knew Jordan was affiliates with these things.
You think poor Africans know anything about LBJ? They certainly didn't mention him or Kobe to my wife. MJ was and is the biggest cultural phenomenon in sports history.
