Based on the fact that Mahomes put up 400 yards of offense while his OL was getting dominated pretty much the entire game.

He made plays with his arm and legs when it mattered most.

Purdy was good, but not better.

people keep saying this. But early in the third quarter, Spag made some adjustments and forced SF to throw (they weren't efficient running to begin with) and he just didn't come through.

Brock Purdy is an above average QB and played to that level last night.

not the issue but didn’t do enough to elevate them to a win

Little did nothing. I thought “damn glad I didn’t take his prop bet”.

Based on what?

San Francisco could have iced the game in regulation by converting a 3rd and 4. They put the ball in Purdy's hands and he failed to deliver. San Francisco had another 3rd and medium in overtime in the red zone and put the ball in Purdy's hands again and he failed to deliver.

Kansas City had a 4th and 1 in OT with the game on the line and put the ball in Mahomes hands. Mahomes delivered. Kansas City later had a 3rd and 1 just outside the red zone and put the ball in Mahomes hands. Mahomes delivered.

Purdy had chances to break the Chiefs back and did not capitalize on them. When Mahomes had the chance he made the 49ers back look like Ric Flair's x-ray after his 1975 plane crash.

there's no way you watched that game and thought this.
Stats don't back you up either.

It did seem that way until you checked their game stats and the final score.

I know what series you are referring to. Again, this was a scenario where SF had a 2nd and 5, after a solid run on first down, and Chokahan called two straight passes. Just stupid play calling all around.

The third down play took several seconds to develop. KC was sending the rush all day, yet Chokahan kept calling pass play after pass play that took forever to develop. That is not on the QB.

Chokahan started the third quarter with SIX STRAIGHT long developing pass plays that went 0/6 and SF held the ball a whopping 43 seconds on two possessions after getting an INT in KC territory, then forcing another three and out.

This is the third SB that Chokahan just has to run the ball a few more times, and his team wins in regulation. He refused.

After going 0/6, KC gets a FG. SF gets the ball again, and again, Chokahan calls 2 passes and one rush. They punt. Held the ball now on three possessions for a whopping 1:45. Playing right into the strength of a defense that gave up nearly 5 yards per rush on the season.

SF D held again, KC punts, SF fumbles, and the rest is history. The "bad" QB scored another TD, then marched down the field twice, only to have his coach once again call stupid plays where they didn't use the clock and settled for a FG.

Again, Chokahan could have had prime Brady, Montana, or even Mahomes Sunday, and he would have choked it away with play calling.

Well, yes, especially when the DC for SF decided pressure was no longer needed and they played prevent. Another stupid coaching decision. KC kept the pressure.

Chokahan was outcoached in a big game for the third time. Won't be the last either. He clearly does not learn from his mistakes. He triples down on them.

I take it you think Shannahan chokes under pressure.

Kyle Shannahan is a better version of Andy Reid before Mahomes

Wut? On some key plays down the stretch, they brought the pressure and Mahomes made them pay for it

obviously he's not without blame, but his three losses are to Brady/Belichik and Mahomes/Reid.

Some, yes, but not like earlier in the game.

Also, notice how the plays Reid called in these spots didn't take 3 days to develop? Snap, quick read, and pass. KC adjusted.

For Purdy it was snap, play action, step up and then guy comes open. By that time, Purdy is running for his life. It was a miracle he was only sacked once.

Again, a good coach can make a good QB and vice versa.

Purdy, while an above average QB after one full year as a starter, has a coach that has proven over and over that he does not know how to handle big game play calling. He has to prove he is a genius by forcing passes when situation clearly calls for the run. Having CMC not rush the ball 25-30 times Sunday was just dumb.

That comment wasn't to shed blame. Reid was notorious for like 15 years for his annual postseaon meltdowns/frickups

Chiefs v. Colts in 2014 was a fricking masterclass in melting down. The Chefs were up 38-10 into the 3rd quarter and lost

2017 the Chefs were up 18 points to the Titans at half and ended up losing.

This is just with the Chiefs. He only made 1 SB in Philly with one of the more loaded rosters in the NFC.
