Guy shouldn't be fired. He made a mistake. I mean seriously he screwed up but to lose his career? Too much. But you knew they'd do it because everyone nowadays has their panties in a wad.

A lot of wailing and gnashing plenty of it from ESPN themselves.

Racism is bad for business

Then ESPN needs to say this to appease the public perception that they fired him out of a "reactionary appeasement to offended persons."
To wipe the slate clean...it's the easy thing to do in public America...just fire people...they're the ones who did it people! Look! We are ridding ourselves of that scum! Don't blame us anymore!
If ESPN said: We didn't fire him because he's racist, perceived racist or made a racist headline...we fired him because he had a professional duty to ensure what ESPN broadcasts upholds respectable standards of society and he failed that duty."
Then I think most people would be okay with it. It doesn't matter if the guy was a great human being...your performance of your job is separate from who you are.

How much money do I have to donate to let me say the n-word, because that's what I want to do.

Are all Asian's Chinese? If not, why would this matter?

Do you honestly think racists take a second to get their geography correct?
Posted on 2/22/12 at 10:07 pm to jturn17
By the way, what nationality is his wife?
Do all Asian ethnic slurs refer to only one country's people?

The headline writer whom this thread is about? No clue if he is even married.
Now the anchor who got suspended for 30 days and is not the same person being referred to in the OP, HIS wife is Asian, or at least that's what he said on Twitter
