Non-SEC at 1 and 2 makes me very happy. It’s been a great Monday to read all of the papers across the south.

Texas has two losses why would they be ahead of Georgia?

Perhaps since Texas beat Bama, who beat Georgia?

Then shouldn’t Bama be ahead of Georgia???

Put Georgia back in the top three.

That’s not how it works. September Bama was a lot different from Dec/Jan Bama.

Uh maybe because Texas had to put their record on the line in a CFP game?
I do not understand the ongoing lovefest LSU fans have with UGA.
So glad to see no SEC teams in the CFP championship. If you ain't LSU, eff ya!

Texas and gumps both lost their playoff game. neither team was able to close the deal.
they should be knocked down in the polling just like a loss during the season.
stop propping up teams when they obviously did not perform.

But Georgia beat Georgia Tech who beat UCF who beat oK State who beat OU who beat UT; so……

Depends if Michigan blows out Washington. I could see them moving Bama back to 2.

Now what if I told you there was another team with the same record as Texas that beat Georgia head to head. Where do you think they would be ranked? Just hypothetically..

Michigan’s defense will win the game

Sports illustrated put an article out today. It’s based on FPI, this will not be the final ranking but it’s interesting, nonetheless.
SI link
-ESPN' Football Power Index (FPI) college football rankings and computer prediction model are a measure of team strength that predicts a team’s future performance.
-Rankings and scores predictions are based on 20,000 simulations of a team’s season and games, using a combination of key analytics, including scores to date, quality of opponents, team talent, recruiting, and a team’s schedule.
-Teams are ranked not in order of talent like in other rankings, but by a projected point margin per game against an average team on a neutral field.
1 Michigan
2 Georgia
3 Ohio State
4 Oregon
5 Penn State
6 Alabama
7 Texas
8 Notre Dame
9 Oklahoma
10 LSU
11 Kansas State
12 Washington
13 Florida State
I have no idea how they have Washington at 12 but they try to justify it in the article.
