Juwan Howard has one of the most punchable faces in sports.

Gard was obviously pissed off about what Juwan said and stopped him to talk about it.

"They (reserves) haven't all been on the floor in pressure situations before," Gard said. "I wanted them to have the best chance to have success while coming up the floor. I wanted them to break the pressure and dribble out the clock."

I don't know exactly what Gard said in the moment, but his explanation at least seems rational.

More rational than Howard claiming his team wasn't pressing, and that he felt he needed to protect himself.

No surprise to see it took all of two hours to be a full blown race issue at ESPN and from hill

Got to cover for Howard’s complete stupidity

It looked like Howard's slap may have been related to something between said between Michigan's #5 and that Wisconsin assistant.

Juwan told Gard he “would remember that next year”, referring to the timeout Gard called. Juwan tried to walk past Gard without shaking his hand, and Gard was obviously pissed off about what Juwan said and stopped him to talk about it.
What gives this old limp p***** sob the right the grab or put his hands on Howard? Can we all agree that an adult man has no business putting his damn hands on another man?

I had Howard's back until he slapped the Coach. No excuse for that , but Wisconsin coach isn't innocent.

Shocking you’d have Howard’s back.

If he would have reacted that way from the beginning, maybe, MAYBE. It he didn’t slap him until there were two people in between them. Howard is the only one that was in the wrong here.

He shook his hand in a handshake line.

Until he slapped the assistant coach. I have no problem with Howard being fired. Keep your hands to yourself old man. Howard is not your child( boy) to get away with putting your hands on.

Howard said he'd "remember that next year" and then tried to walk past Gard without shaking his hand or saying anything else. Gard wasn't having that and made Howard explain himself.

Gard instigated it by putting his hands on him initially but Juwon had no right to escalate it like he did by grabbing him with clenched fists like he was going to beat him up and that's what started the scrum.

If you want to play that game, what gives Howard the right to talk shite, and blow off Gard in the handshake line first?

You had Howard's back because Gard grabbed his elbow after that, so I assume you also had Gard's back when Howard actually grabbed the front of Gard's shirt. Since we can all agree an adult man has no business putting his hands on another adult man. The horror.

I was watching it live. The walk ons were all in and Michigan was playing high pressure defense that they couldn’t handle. If Michigan called off the hounds, there would be no need to call a timeout.

After it was broken up the crowd started chanting "NIT" to UM.
