What in the hell makes some of you guys the only ones who can talk about MMA

You will never once see me say I know more about MMA then anyone else. (well, unless someone is completely retarded about it. ) I've been on here as long as almost anyone sans Cash and Max and I'll be the first to say Brock is legit. Brock getting on top of Fedor and Fedor not being able to do anything about it is as legit an argument as can be made for if they fought. I think the arrogance, we'll call it arrogance, from the long time posters such as myself comes from having made the mistake of the brash predictions and concrete opinions only to look like a complete arse when the opposite happens. Its fighting. ANYONE can win. To say one guy is going to smash another guy when both are about on the same level without a hell of a good reasoning as to why is going to earn the "Tuf newbs" a little ridicule. Now I do go out on a limb and say I basically think it is a lock one guy is going to win every now and then. I did it for this fight with Brock vs Mir. But, I haven't missed one of those in a really really long time. GSP vs Serra to be exact

Can't Dana White offer a one-fight contract to Fedor, instead of an ongoing obligation to fight within the UFC?

Set it up for year from now, or so. Fedor vs. Brock. East vs. West. MMA fight of the century. Market it as a one-time, winner-take-all heavyweight fight for all the bragging rights. If Fedor wins, he can go on and retire as the undisputed best in the world. If Brock wins, the UFC can claim ultimate, all-time bragging rights as hosting the best fighters in the world.

Win or lose for either fighter, the gate and pay-per-view earnings would dwarf every other contest in history. It would be great for the sport, fans, and future marketability of UFC bouts. Dana White would get a lot of credit for getting it done and would also earn a lot of loyalty from the hardcore fans for bringing this fight to fruition.

I must be missing something, because this seems like the ultimate no-brainer.

If Randy beats Nog, I still want to see him fight Fedor. I don't care if he is 100. I still want to see it.

My favorite quote from this past week was how some tard said that "Brock would toy with Carwin"

Granted I think Brock wins 4 out of 5, but NO ONE is toying with Shane Carwin.

THREAD HIJACK

Good article on yahoo about Kimbo. As much as I want to hate this guy, he's starting to wear on me a bit.

TUF just finshed filming and I'll bet anything that he'll make 100k in base pay or damn close to it in 6 fights if he doesn't win the show.

This guy is going to pull ppv's regardless. I bet you he get's about 10k to show with a 10k win bonus each fight if he doesn't win the show.

Haven't the past contracts been 6 fight deals for 6 figures?

White would be stupid to do that, if Fedor wins than you have a fighter with the UFC Heavyweight Title fighting for another organization.

the TUF winner contract isnt all that great especially not anymore but i bet Kimbo gets a shitload more than $20k per fight regardless of how badly he may do on TUF. The UFC knows who draws fans, Brock was making more money than just about anyone right off the bat. I bet Kimbo got a six figure bonus just to be on TUF in the first place.

Obviously it would be a non-belt fight if it were a one-time thing.

It's been 9 fight deals, but they have the right to cut you after two consecutive loses.

wouldn't matter-
If Fedor takes out the current UFC HW Champ(now he has already beaten a shitload of x UFC Champs), and then fights in another organization, the UFC is 2nd rate with regard to the HW title.

Shogun is not beating Machida, noway, nohow! Beating Chuck Liddel shouldn't be considered a measuring stick anymore.

There are multiple reasons why offering Fedor a one fight deal is a bad idea. Do we really need to explain them to you?

I bet the gate and ppv buys would not change extraordinarily for that show. If everyone that knew who fedor was that was willing to buy a card bought a ppv, the numbers probably wouldn't move that much. Those are definitely the minority.

As for the actual conditions of the fight. It makes absolutely no sense for zuffa to do that. If brock wins, nothing really changes because fedor hasn't had time to be built up as a contender. If brock loses, it's suicide for the hw division and a real blemish on the ufc as a whole considering that now you can't even have that person that won make money for you. You basically give fedor free publicity and pay him for it too.

...........and the two of them are going to dip their wrapped hands in a mixture of glue and broken glass before the fight.
