There’s an online petition called FedorChant.com, where a thousand people are going to cheer “Fedor” (Emelianenko) during the main event (at UFC 100). Is that going to put more pressure on you, and just the fact that Fedor doesn’t want to sign because of sambo, was that something that you’d ever overlook?
Fertitta: I hope all 12,000 people yell Fedor’s name at the same time. The pressure’s not on me. The pressure’s on him. They already know. The facts are the facts. We made him the best offer out there, more money than anybody offered him –- so you can’t say it’s about the money. Then they come back and they say, “Well, it’s a one-sided contract.” Let’s break this down from a logical standpoint. We offered the exact same contract that three hundred other guys have signed, including Brock Lesnar, Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, GSP, all the top stars. Why is that contract not good enough for Fedor? What Fedor wants is this. He doesn’t want to be exclusive. So, it’s like saying, okay, Tom Brady: “I’m going to play for New England Patriots one Sunday, but you know what? After that game’s over, I want to be a free agent and go see where I can play for the rest of the season.” Every weekend he’s going to skip around and play for whoever he wants. How does that make sense for us as a business or for the fans? He needs to come into our fold if he wants to cement his legacy as the best fighter in the world. We can figure something out with the sambo thing… (but) at the end of the day, I think we need to have a situation where at least 90 or 120 days before he’s signed a contract to fight, he shouldn’t be out there competing in events like that because I don’t want to take the chance of him getting hurt. But all of this stuff with Fedor: we want Fedor. As soon as he gets done with this show that he’s doing, he can come –- we’ve never met Fedor. I want to sit down. I want to talk to him and that’s part of the problem. We’ve never even met the guy. But it is a shame that he has not come forward to challenge the best guys in the world and I hope he comes. We want him.
Is the sambo really a sticking point?
Fertitta: That’s a big excuse for Fedor to say he’s not coming to the UFC, and quite honestly, I don’t think it’s Fedor. I think Fedor wants to compete. The issue has been his management. They’ve completely kept him aside. I’m not sure he even knows what we offered him, to be honest with you. I think if he knew what we offered, he would have been here a long time ago. There’s been a little bit of disconnect there… we want to meet him in person. We will not sit down and negotiate until me and Dana meet him in person. And if at that time he decides to not be a part of what we’re doing, then we know.

Sounds like Fedor and Britney Spears have the same manager.

i've been saying this a while. It's a bullshite crutch used by Fedor's management, and they are acting like divas. I know it's not all Fedor pulling the strings, but it's turning him from my favorite fighter into one i hope gets his arse whipped.

Someone apparently must have given out the password to MSB on the rant.
I was almost guilty of it about 6 months back.

seeing bufer jump around the ring at a live event, i must say, is right up there with sights like the grand canyon, the eiffel tower, etc.
you have to watch all the videos to get a true feel for how much he actually gets down
he may have a hernia if lesnar/fedor were to happen

but I really think he is past his prime
Brock is a year younger than fedor you know. While Fedor was getting real ring experience Brock's dumb arse was doing 5 star frog splashes and not landing them.

I love how only soem of you are MMA experts. What in the hell makes some of you guys the only ones who can talk about MMA. Did you go to college and get a degree in MMA? Just because you dont like some of these guys opinion doesnt make it wrong. Answer this question, why do you guys hate Brock so much? Is it just that he is from WWE?. If so then that is stupid. If you dont like his attitude then that is fine because he is an a-hole. What are you guys going to do if he fights Fedor and whoops his arse just like he did Mir? I dont think he will but it can damn sure happen

Fedor wont sign with the UFC because he cant fight sambo if he does
there is so much more to it than that. He won't sign with the ufc because his managers use him as a chip to bargain with in order to leech off orginizations. Afflicition can use fedor but they also have to partner with m1 and give all their fighters fights. That is the real reason dana white told them to frick off and that they were "crazy russians".
I'm with dana on this one. He doesnt ever need to get fedor because most of his customers don't even know who he is. I think he still goes after fedor out of pride/ego and wanting to legitimize the ufc hw belt to the hardcore fans.
As for the fight, fedor would obviously be the favorite but don't be too quick to dismiss Brock. Fedor isn't a very big heavyweight. He's just a few pounds bigger than randy was when he fought brock. Brock is no joke, he is huge(at least 280 at fight time)and he is an dominant wrestler. Fedor has never had to deal with a bigger wrestler outside of the roided up randleman. Coleman does not count. How does fedor fight off his back? Could the huge brock get him down? Are we gonna see another fedor armbars a giant scenario? It will be interesting but I wouldn't bet on that fight no matter what the odds.
We'll know more after fedor takes on barnett. Lindland almost got him on his back but fedor grabbed the ropes to avoid the takedown.

thank you.
plus, wasn't Fedor already gashed open in that fight? Fedor on his back under a great wrestler, with blood going into his eye would have been interesting.

yeah I was surprised the ref didn't call that atleast standing when Fedor grabbed the rope for a clear advantage.
FWIW...even though all this Fedor vs Brock talk is fun...EVEN if Barnett loses...I would love to see him fight Brock.

Lindland was an olympic wrestler and silver medalist in Greco.

Since you replied to me I'll answer.
First of all who's claiming to be experts? 2nd is that there has been a small group of us talking MMA for about 3 years and few other guys longer than that on here. Now all of a sudden everyone from ranter nation comes out the closet and everyone is an "EXPERT" on Lesnar, Fedor and MMA in general.
The more people the better talking MMA IMO, but when people start talking how Pride was say all/end all of MMA, and that Fedor is the new Zeus of our generation is quite ridiculous. I have all the respect in the world for Fedor(which I believe RIGHT NOW, he would beat Brock) as I do Brock(as a fighter that is), but some of the rantardness has got of hand since this past weekend.

i know, hence why i thought it would have been VERY interesting had Fedor not used the ropes.
