Lol this is ridiculous. Nobody is going to the ballpark to look at tall buildings.

I agree it’s a nice backdrop to have, but there are other criteria to a stadium besides the background…you’re there to watch the game, not critique the local architecture.

Then I guess Tropicana is one of the better stadiums in the league? Or, by your account, Wake Forest's football stadium is (arguably) better than Tiger Stadium, Notre Dame stadium, etc. I mean, you're only there to watch the game, and not critique the stadium and its surroundings, right?

Obviously, you're a Kansas City guy. I'm glad you enjoy the stadium.

The views really do add something to the general ambience and can affect the overall experience at a game and how one appreciates the stadium.

That said, I totally disagree with everyone shitting on Kauffman. I absolutely love that ballpark and Arrowhead. Been to multiple games at both and while there isn't much to do within walking distance, the fans and tailgate scene really add to the atmosphere and KC is relatively easy to get around.

Best is Pittsburgh.

Worst is Oakland.

Wrigley Field, aside from the history, sucks. Fenway is a little better, but has plenty awful seats as well.

I’ve only been to Wrigley and Citi Field and they were both amazing. My cousin wants to go visit and check out Minute Maid Park in Houston. What do y’all think of that one?

Wrigley and Fenway even moreso are shitholes, but that's kind of the point.

1. PNC Park
2. Busch Stadium
3. Oracle Park
4. Coors Field
5. Petco Park
6. Progressive Field
7. TMobile Park
8. Wrigley Field
9. Ballpark in Arlington
10. Great American
11. Miller Park
12. Citi Field
13. Kingdome
14. Mile High Stadium
15. Chase Field
16. Minute Maid
17. Kaufman Stadium
18. Guaranteed Rate
19. Rogers Center
20. Astrodome
21. Oakland Coliseum
22. Stade Olympique

I found some of the dumpy places to have the best fans (Denver, Seattle, Oakland).

Wrigley is so hard to judge because the facility itself is not up to par with the best, but the atmosphere around the park is authentic and almost impossible to beat.

I feel like the top 5 are in their own tier, and 9-17 are all close in their own ways.

Minute Maid seems very fake to me. When it opened, they overdid it with the quirks. It’s a bit better now.

Yeah, I never really understand what people mean by calling either of these places "shitholes." They are the only two parks left that were built in the early part of the 20th century and they are the two best places I've ever been in to WATCH A BASEBALL GAME. You are on top of the field in both. You don't feel like you're in an amusement park, sure (although the surroundings of both are basically getting there now), but you basically get to sit and watch the game in a freaking museum to baseball. There are very few other venues in American sports anymore where you get to do that.

Agreed. I also wonder how many of these people hating on Wrigley have been there since the renovations were completed in 2019. It's not perfect, and neither is Fenway, but those stadiums have a unique feel as part of the history of both the clubs and their respective neighborhood in ways that almost every modern stadium tries to replicate but fails to pull off.

Worst was Riverfront park in cinccy

Fans are shite, and the park was shite. Reds were in a fight for Wild card, and 12K show up for the game, and at least 1/3rd were Cardinal fans. Was nothing to do around the park, it was not good.

What in the frick are you talking about? It’s downtown...walking distance to virtually 100’s of bars and restaurants?

Much safer than that shithole in STL too..

That place is something else, I loved it.

It did get hot though, reports of the turf getting up to 150 degrees in the dead heat of summer during afternoon games was driving players away.

And Fans

The old Busch stadium got up to 150 degrees on the astroturf. Melted some player's cleats.

Yeh I had no clue and walked up to the ticket window for a game in 2003. I asked for 1st base side but was quickly offered half price if I would sit on 3rd base side. I soon found out why after I agreed and went to my seat.

The coliseum is so awful, it's fantastic. Just have to be in the right section and on a nice sunny day game.

I can get on board with this. It’s no frills. If you walk around the Mt Davis area you probably won’t even find ushers. You’d swear some of the hot dogs have been spinning on the rack since the Bash Brothers ruled the AL. The gift shop hasn’t been updated since Dave Stewart was pitching.

But you can easily find a great seat (so long as you don’t mind a half mile of foul territory between you and the players) and the fans that do show up are pretty rowdy.

Hot damn! Gorgeous pics! And a gorgeous city! Can’t wait to visit this summer!
