Yeah, forgot that changed last year. I still use the old initials.

News coming out that Niki Lauda has died.

quote:

With deep sadness, we announce that our beloved Niki has peacefully passed away with his family on Monday," his family said in a statement.
"His unique achievements as an athlete and entrepreneur are and will remain unforgettable, his tireless zest for action, his straightforwardness and his courage remain.
"A role model and a benchmark for all of us, he was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather away from the public, and he will be missed."

Still new to watching F1 but is Williams always this bad? I remember them in the Netflix show seeming to be one error after another but both cars are last in lap times at Monaco, 4 seconds slower than the Mercedes. They've yet to score a point in the constructors cup, they've been practically last in every race.

Mercedes was 1/2 in the second practice and 1/3 with Verstappen being 2 in the first practice.

Just a few years ago they were probably "best of the rest" right behind Red Bull. But they've lost some good driver talent (Bottas and Massa) and have been somewhat strapped financially. They've never had a lot of downforce but were usually competitive on tracks that don't require a lot.

Monaco is a max downforce track so Williams has never been good there.

Williams won't score a point this season. With Patrick Head and Frank retired, and Frank's daughter running the show, it will continue to be a downward spiral. RIP Williams, one of the legendary teams is no more.

Is it me or does seem like Vettel is always locking up his brakes?

WTF Ferrari? Not sending Leclerc back out in Q1 was stupid. They can't get through a single race without stepping on their dick.

And Vettel... I love the guy but he makes too many little mistakes. Sometimes big ones, like Hockenheim last year.

Comparing Monaco to New Orleans is apt since the Monaco GP is the greatest parade on Earth.

Mercedes going 1,2 again. This will be worse than last week.

Everyone hope that hamilton wrecks and take Bottas out with him. That's really the only shot for any other team.

I don’t think Mattia Binotto and his hipster glasses are the answer for Ferrari at Team Principal.

Really a boring season with Mercedes in the top spots. Even Ferrari can’t really hang.

Liked how the commentators were talking about how tight things were going to be when the brunette with the painted on white pants walked by in the other direction.

The prestige, glitz, glamour, and people watching at this race is second to none. The actual race is a snoozefest in the dry, and total and complete random chaos when raining. Without rain the driver leading after going through St. Jovite on the first lap is going to win unless

1. He gets careless and scrapes a wall.
2. A driver right in front of him gets careless and scrapes a wall.
3. His pit crew gets careless and F-up his pit stop.
4. A safety car or virtual safety car comes out at the absolute worst time for the leader.

With rain absolutely anything can happen.

Let's be honest. The cars outgrew this track decades ago. It's pretty much just qualifying and possibly pit lane that decides this.

Leclerc thinks it's a demolition derby.

Has been the best race to watch though.
