We have the final funeral today of Mr. Benson, the owner of an NFL franchise of 33 ish years as well as an NBA team. There are several who's who's that are gathered together from multiple sports for Mr. Benson's funeral and there is zero coverage nor acknowledgement of it at least via their main page of their website. Nothing on the main NFL page neither.

Maybe i'm a little to close to the situation but, i'd say this is a pretty big event to acknowledge today.

SO with all that said, go frick yourself once again ESPN.

They had it on the frontpage after he died. And I saw coverage on ESPN this morning while I was at the gym. Its not like they're ignoring it, but a funeral isn't exactly frontpage news for the national media unless it was a world leader or someone that was world famous.

It’s a real shame there was nothing there for a guy who tried to move the Saints while the people of New Orleans were still suffering from the effects of Katrina? It was his right, but let’s not pretend like he was someone who cared about New Orleans, but rather himself and his bottom line. He evacuated Tiger Stadium when the Saints played there in 05 fearing for his safety because he was public enemy No. 1. The Saints are still here only because of Paul Tagliabue. Time must cloud memories.

Just a few more people I saw. Vilma, Jerry Jones, Jim Mora. Mora was rocking a under armor pull over.

Slow news day,

even more reason why its a story. When they have numerous NFL owners, Goodell, Adam Silver and a long list of other sports related people in the same gathering, it's kind of a story.

He's dead so I doubt he's taking it personally.

You think if Alex Spanos or Pat Bowlen died, ESPN would cover the death on 1 day then dedicate more time to cover the funeral?

Yea, why would anyone on a Louisiana sports board care about New Orleans, and the Owner of their two pro teams?

Are the kids and grandkids there?

I'm mildly curious to know how scorched Earth Gayle is going to be now that she officially has the keys.

If Tom Brady and belichik was at krafts funeral today, I kind of do think it’s be a relevant espn covered story

Wait until Jerry dies.

And yes, Geno Auriemma's penis envy is not a bigger story. EVER.

I'm pretty sure ESPN cover Myra Kraft's funeral a few years ago

Sure, and Tom Benson isn't on Kraft's level.

He's more on the national level of the 2 owners I mentioned above that I never really heard of.
