You are the one suggesting Espn, a known liberal media outlet, would be tougher on a black athlete

I don't think you need to be the one talking about others and reality...

I'd go the other way and say if Mayfield were black it's plausible that some at ESPN would treat him more harshly for his "thuggish" behavior.

Do you really think ESPN anchors would refer to it as thuggish?

They wouldn't say thuggish but I bet if Lamar Jackson had gotten arrested for running away from the cops it wouldn't have been glossed over in the media the same it's been.

Look man, you are saying an outwardly liberal station is harsher on minorities

That is like saying Fox News is harsher on conservatives

You're missing the layers of this debate, that's what it comes down to.

When it's specific to race talk, yea they go easy on Bennett. They fire Schilling for not listening about not talking politics, then keep Hill around for doing the same but adding in race talk to her politics.

But that's not what this discussion is about. And you're absolutely kidding yourself if you think the difference in the Mayfield vs Flowers coverage is even 1% attributed to race and not that 1 is a Heisman frontrunner on a top 4 team and the other is on an unranked non P5 team.

It couldn't be any more obvious;

quote:

-Caitlyn Jenner a hero and an ESPY for choosing to be a girl
-Kaepernick is a modern day Rosa Parks for protesting something that is a statistical outlier and asking for something that was already occuring
-Jamele Hill calling President, his cabinet, and his voters white supremecists
-Linda Cohn suspended for stating ESPN shouldn't be involved in politics
-Michelle Beadle telling old white men they should "shut up and listen" while discussing a story not involving anyone white
-Reporting non stop for a week about Michael Bennett racism claims then silence when video evidence proves him to be a race baiting fraud
-Removing an Asian announcer from broadcast because his name is Robert Lee
-Lebron James is so brave for comparing himself to a 14 year old kid who was lynched in Mississippi. No evidence racist hoax ever happened.
-Ryan Lochte is prime example of white privelage! Even though he got robbed at gunpoint by Brazilian police
-Curt Schilling fired for conservative view of bathroom law
-Britt McHenry fired for conservative views
-On college gameday, we got a lecture on how terrible Baker Mayfield was for grabbing his dick. Meanwhile the night before the South Florida qb scored a td, acted like he was jerking off then threw his theoretical semen at the crowd. No mention. Because he's not white

I guess you're too busy watching The View.

You're missing the whole point. It's hypocritical and disingenuous to be so over the top on how terrible Mayfield was without even mentioning Flowers' celebration which was far worse than what Mayfield did. And don't give me the unranked non power 5 bull shite they were ranked for 10 consecutive weeks this season and the player did it on their own network vs the number 15 ranked team in prime time the night before gameday crucified Mayfield

That should tell you how little of a frick people give about USF or their QB.

High profile QB indeed.

ETA: I can't imagine going through life getting outraged at such petty shite. ETA2: And keeping track of everything.

If you don't like ESPN, don't watch it, man.
